Backwards run flat tire install?

I just noticed that the installer mounted my new tires "backwards". Reads inside on the side wall of one of the tires instead of outside. Unfortunately I had the new tires installed 6 months/7K miles ago and just noticed.

Is this a big deal? Ok just to have remounted correctly and roll, or because of the miles already on the tire, will this cause problems? What is reasonable to expect from the installer to make the situation right. I bought the tires through tire rack.

maybe if you inform tire rack of the problem they will send a replacement set of tires for you. Really I don't know what risks are involved when mounted backwards.....think of reduced performance at least. I don't believe mounting them correctly after 7k miles will be a good choice. Tire Rack should be responsible for the work done by their recommended installers....

Isn't the same info printed on both sides of the sidewall? Even on directional tires this is the case, since they can still be mounted on the left or right side of the car and either sidewall can end up facing outboard.

And are you sure your tires are directional? Do you see an arrow pointing either way?

I noticed when I was swapping my winters off that our stock RFTs are not directional. I was momentarily perplexed as I hadn't had a non-directional tire in ages but they seem to be fine.
