M4 turbo's on a 1M or aftermarket Borg worners?

Has anyone tried it yet?
I've had my 1m in storage as i had got used to the power and didnt want to go ott with mods.
Ive been using my csl and evo race car to itch the scratch but now i'm selling the csl i'm after some new turbo's for the 1M .

Question is which ones?

BorgWorner are amazing turbo's and as ive used them before i've been tempted to see if they do a direct replacement- anyone used them on the 1M yet?

M4 turbo's? what is the spec of these? does anyone offer an upgraded version besides the oem BMW unit yet?

cheers Jamie

Neither will fit --not even close. The N54 turbos are integral to the exhaust manifold so you can't simply "bolt-on" a different turbo.

Unless you replace the entire system (as I will be shortly), your only options are RB Turbos or Vargas Turbos, both of which machine the stock housing in order to fit slightly larger wheels.

you have 454 hp and it's not enough?

have you considered buying a different car....i don't think the 1M is about making 600hp....at least IMO. get yourself a supercar.

Don't Put Vargas Turbos in your car whatever you do.
That's an expensive mistake to make.
How do you even keep the rear end on the ground with that much power?
You must be in the no-traction-until-80MPH-club.

cheers for the input guys..

Traction is an issue if i'm honest, rear 295 width pilot super sports last roughly 3k miles lol

I probably have got carried away with keeping up with my pals in- gtr35(720bhp), r8 v10, Porsche turbo s, ess supercharged m3's etc, strange really, as i'm quite happy being slower on the straights and faster around the corners in my track spec csl.
see below-my CSL at Spa vs M3 GTS

Fact is, one of my turbo's has started to smoke a little and so i'm looking at the best replacement options available.

Looks like i have the choice of going roller bearing on the oem manifold or employing my pals at Nortech to make me one of their custom manifolds and go the BorgWorner route.
They did a great job on my 570bhp pulsar gtir track car.
See here

I'd be interested to see what other people on here have done if anyone else has done it yet?

cheers Jamie

I'll be replacing my RB turbos with a MOTIV Motorsport 750 kit at the end of the month.

Hi Neil,
I'm not to keen on going single turbo tbh, i love the lack of turbo lag with the twin turbo set up.
What clutch are you running?
Would you be interested in selling me your rb turbo's?

cheers Jamie

DO NOT go Vargas. It's a scam.

Jamie -

Currently running a SPEC Stg. 2+ with a steel single mass flywheel. Will eventually (if/when it begins to slip) move to SPEC's twin-disc clutch.

Someone is in line in front of you for the RBs, but I'll get in touch if he loses interest.
