I got a 2009 135i M-sport . I want to put a dump valve on her, but not sure what's the best brand and if I'm making a mistake? Anyone got some suggestions? I'm still under warranty, would action autowerk's void this?

I just installed a Garmin ecoroute, that gives me some really cool gauges.
Does anyone know what the stock boost pressure is ?

Dump valve has different meanings to different people. Blow off valve? Dump tube from waste gates?

Tial and synapse are good blow off valves. Ets and Stett make good charge pipes, that can include one of those valves.

Stock boost is around 7-8 psi of boost

Warranty can only be voided if you try to claim warranty repairs from aftermarket parts causing issues. I had my fully modded cars in for oil changes, hpfp replacements, etc.

Yes, you can. What symptoms are you having?

Well i have the jb4 tune on a n55 and i set it so it hacks the oil temp gauge, so it shows me boost instead now and i never see the needle pass the 8 psi mark but i can feel the extra power the tune is giving me because when i turn the tune off, i can feel the difference...i can use map 2 cause i have a downpipe, intercooler, and chargepipe so i should be seeing it go to 14 psi... Dont know what could be the problem

You should data log the boost. I wouldn't rely on the in dash gauges. Do some wide open throttle data logs and post em up

The BMW 15k mile oil changes...not nutty is that!
After my next free oil change I'm going to go with the usual 5k mile oil changes at my own costs.
What makes them think that oil will last that long with a turbo charged car!?

That is why they call it LONG-LIFE... which is absolute BS!

Over here in Australia, the first service 25k, I asked them is the oil going to last that long?

I already have 2 oil changes in between...

change your oil every 5k miles! you can actually "feel" the performance advantage. i think my car picked up 10-15 whp by doing regular oil changes, over not changing the oil except once a year. never datalogged it or dyno-tested it, these are butt-dyno impressions only

So true, oil changes are a night and day difference. I've been told the long intervals get nice sludge build up too....

Why? That can actually be the case sometimes. Especially older cars too, 15HP can be conservative. But on onler vehicles its usually a tune up as well.

A tune up is a whole nother thing. Of course a tune up can regain lost hp and 15hp can be conservative there, depending on how bad the plugs/coils...were at the time of change.
A simple oil change is not going to give you hp, let alone 15. You might gain a couple if a lighter weight oil is used but not using OEM viscosity oil. Not gonna happen.

What does it mean? Do i have bad coil or spark?

If the cats and shape of the downpipes are rather restrictive(in my case on the N54) and replacing them with catless DP's nets huge yields, would replacing the mids with catless mids do the same or is the piping not as restictive in the mids? Would the freer flowing gases wear down the mid's cats faster?
