1 Series Top Mount Dash Gauges

Hey, has anyone seen or heard of some sort of gauge pod that takes the place of the storage compartment in the dash right above the middle vents? I never use the compartment and although the ashtray pods are nice, I'd prefer something eye level.

Don't know of any dashboard ones but have you seen the ones that go on the steering column?

I have seen those, I just don't know if I could get used to the gauges blocking some of the instrument cluster

I thought about an A-pillar mount. You'd have to do some custom fabrication but with an extra A-pillar piece and some universal gauge mounts it seems like something could be fabricated. My concern is whether I would want it in the car (i.e. would I do a good job). You can buy custom A-pillars with gauge mounting spots for some cars but I couldn't find it for a e88 (or e82).

I'd like a-pillar gauges but the only problem with that is the fact that there are airbags in our car's a-pillars
