So my dad asked me this today and i couldn't really provide a definite answer.. Does putting the euro Disa manifold, headers and a tune on affect the reliability and longevity of our motors? He's convinced the extra power has to lead to extra wear, but i know that's not so, i just couldn't provide any examples other then the 130i already having the manifold and a BMW made tune to suit it.

As always you pull through Andrey! I knew our cars were bulletproof but as always i need to have some written proof to backup my mod plans. The whole idea behind getting a 128 instead of a 135i was reliability and longevity.. so if i can squeeze 250rwhp and keep that, i'd be quite a happy man.

I'm picking up a 135i M Sport this coming weekend, but I also drove a new 128i (non M Sport) and it was a fun car. The 1-series remind me of the mid 90's 3-series which I always loved.

I had a 2007 Cayman S with pretty much all of the options beyond sat nav and I can't say the 1-series is as much fun to drive, but the 1 has a back seat, more headroom, and more legroom. I miss the Cayman, but don't regret selling it (anyway, the 982 is nearly here so it was the right time to unload it). The 1 is the closest useable and fun car I could find that had a quality interior and the build quality I want.

I'm glad I went with the 135, but I could be very happy driving a 128 every day and not look back. Great car.....

haha, no prob. Even a 128i deserves some fans
X3 from 2008 also had 260 hp and disa.

128i with 250 whp is prob after headers
We have to settle for somewhere in the 230 rwhp on dynojet given perfect temps, fuel and tune

Yeah i'm aiming for 250 after headers Disa exhaust work and a custom tune. I think it's feasible assuming i can find a good tuner/dyno locally.

certainly,

AA mentioned in their threads about working with a customer on a header tune. OE or Ginatni worked with MMW Gavin some time back, he had a dyno with headers posted( i think the image is down , but its there)

the UK guys want 150 GBP on top for a header remap

True, the car has a very simple feel to it.
