135 Headlights stopped rotating

Switch is in AUTO of course.

Lately the headlights sometimes rotate and sometimes they don't. They used to always rotate. I know this beacuse I always leave my house when it's dark and make a sharp right turn out of my driveway so it's very noticeable when they work correctly.

Need ideas of what could cause this. Anyone else have this problem. I've done a search and could not find this particular issue.

my friends 135i adaptives recently quit working, as well as my roommates 335i. mine failed around 30k. so i know 3 people locally with the adaptive lights and all 3 have quit working before 50k...seems like a common problem. As for fixing it...They were all done under warranty so i can't help you there.

They only are adaptive when in auto mode. If they are just on from the switch, they aren't adaptive.

edit, sorry saw your note.

Just FIY... when the adaptive headlights fail... when you have the headlight switch in "auto mode" (full left CC position) the little green light will BLINK when there is an error. Also you should get a warning icon on the instrument panel (kombi).

Mine currently do not work either.

My car has been in the shop 3 times now and they still arent working.

1st time: Right bulb was out and AE did not work and inner lights would not come on when blinker is on or when turning
2nd time: Same except right bulb works. They said they need to replace the "black box" for the lights
3rd time: Still no AE. They said they now have to program the "black box" as they didnt do that before.

4th time: Scheduled for 30 May and the SA said that he thinks they put the wrong "black box" in. Apparently there are 3 kinds. In his words, one with no adaptive, one with adaptive and one with adaptive and inner lights working with adaptive.

:sadpanda:

edit: Just saw your post dack, mine only threw an error when my right light was not working. Other than that i have had no blinking green light and no errors...along with no adaptive.

No new bulbs, no green error indications. All bulbs are working. What I find unique is that it's an intermittent problem.
