What's the cost and the purpose of spacers? Is it cosmetic only or is there a traction/balance thing? It's late and I'm too lazy to search. Great pics....can't wait for my SG 330...just 17 days!

Did you try "before & after" with the spacers? Do they affect the ride comfort or handling in any way? Great looking car!

For me though, all things being equal, it was cosmetic, because the spacers push the wheels out, and make the rear end look beefier, and a bit more aggressive. The cost is about $120 for a set of 2 spacers.

As for handling...no, I can feel no difference in handling whatsoever.

Not the best comparison, but here's a side-by-side comparison of stock vs 15mm. If you use the horizontal line on the rear bumper as reference, you can see the stock tire intersects with the fender at or just below this line, whereas the 15mm setup intersects well above the horizontal line. The angles are slightly different, but if anything, it takes away some from the actual effect of the spacers when compared in real life. And for what it's worth, the real effect of the spacers is best seen when looking at the car from side angles or variations of same.

Cool...I can see the difference and I agree it looks better! Thanks for the info.....they are only installed on the rear then? And who was your supplier? And can a tire shop do the install? Thank you thank you.

As for installation... If you can change a tire, you can install the spacers. They simply fit snug over the end of the axil hub. Literally takes about 5 minutes a wheel to install DIY. No need to pay somebody to do it for you.

are spacers safe? i.e. does their presence make a difference somehow on the force/stress applied on the wheel or bolts?

Fletches (the OP) was my shipmate all the way back in February 2006. He disappeared shortly after delivery. That reminds me, I want to email him up.

So the spacers and bolts are around $120 and sabb bolt covers are $30. We're talkin 150 plus shipping for these? Anyone got some more pictures of the 15s installed?
