IT FITS!!! (contains 1M material, viewer discretion is advised)

We were lucky enough to have a 1M come in yesterday for a test fitment for our N54 Intercooler. It fit like a glove. No major cutting needed, again for the 1 series you need to cut around the ambient air temperature sensor and smooth the area out. Same deal for the 1M. There is a little bit more plumbing in the way due to the extra radiator located in front of the driver side wheel well but nothing too bad. SO for all you 1M owners, (you lucky *&*@!('s ) you can now use the Helix Stepped core intercooler. Congrats!

Here are some pictures of the beast. Enjoy!

I shed a single tear when I saw the scratches underneath the front bumper. Mainly because I know it is inevitable and that mine will experience the same fate.

1M is going to come back after tuning and other modifications are done so we can compare to the baseline. We dont need to post numbers to increase sales mostly because we dont claim hp gains from our intercoolers. Our intercoolers are the best you can buy because of the design and materials which results in lower IAT's and pressure drops. That leads to being able to run the car at higher boost which THEN increases power. Without our intercooler you would be missing out on potential hp as well as loosing power during heat soak. With our intercooler you dont miss our on either of those

When you install our intercooler you probably will get a power increase but we try to stay honest and not use that as a sales gimmick.

Reduced IAT due to increased heat exchanging ability should show gains even at stock boost levels, especially during long WOT high speed pulls. It would be interesting to see the gains if any with just the intercooler, and then with each next mod one by one.

And agreed, higher IATs due to greater pressure and more turbo rpm than stock should showcase the extra heat exchanging ability even better.

I woldn't consider a dynamometer readout to ever be a sales gimmick, unless the results were skewed or modified.

Meh. My BSM will barely show marks like that. But, being anal...that was my first thought as well. I'm still going to "try" to avoid it! lol

Correct. Im sorry if thats not what came through in my explanation. What I meant is that instead of saying "BUY THIS IT ADDS 25HP!!!!!" we want the customer to know what an intercooler really does.

The ECU seems to need to adapt to a new FMIC, but after a couple of days there is definitely a noticeable improvement.

Helix FMIC's are always an exceptional product and if I had a 1M, if would definitely be one of the first upgrades since the stock one is such a POS.

+1 Have the beautiful CF front splitter that Harold and team are selling on my wish list, but after seeing these scratches and how easily susceptible the area is, I am afraid I am relegating it down in priority... Otherwise car looks great, which ones are those AE bulbs?

Then I guess forum fellow Oz will tell you to cry him a river. His front bumper seems to be a curb nymphomeniac...

In 1M Land, there are garage queens, urban jungle horses and horses for courses. All "Pyrat" stuff, no doubt, but some got more badges of honor than others. I coin my 1M in the second league and, hence, parts of the underside of the front bumper ain't quite immaculate anymore.
