Rear fog lights
So I found a coding guy in the NorCal area and I have an appointment to do some coding next week. One of the things I'm considering having coded is to have the rear fog lights activate with the rear braking signal. Anyone know if this would violate any traffic laws? And whether or not this would be worthwhile? Driving in CA, the sheer number of idiots who tailgate me at 80 is ridiculous and I figured this would just help make sure said bozos back off.
Sorry - I think I posted this in the wrong forum. It probably belongs in the Cosmetic Mods forum. Apologies.

Your car already HAS two stage brake lights. The rear(brake) fogs - light up only for a few seconds and only when you brake really hard. I believe the Z4 was teh first car to have this feature.
http://www.bmw.com/com/en/newvehicle...e_display.html IF you install a euro headlight switch... you can also turn on the rear brake fogs durring inclimate weather. You should only use rear brake fogs when you can not see past 50m or less(by German law). Now the EU spec cars have this "extra" feature which is not allowed by the US goverment - which flashes the lights AND the third brake light during very hard braking. Here is the old thread... All blinkers activated under heavy low speed braking uphill http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...t=hard+braking Dack |
