How is the car after the update? Bringing my car in tomorrow for an oil change and was going to ask about it. I'm not sure I want to have it done though if the shifts won't be as aggressive and I'll lose the burbles. It'll be something to consider.

You won't lose burbles and shifts would still be very similar. I know, it is almost contrary to what I posted. The burbles would just be a tad harder to do on purpose. In daily driving, it's still the same.

Thanks for the update. After reading what everyone has been saying I was concerned. Now, not so much. I'll look into the update tomorrow.

So this was my 2nd appointment because first time around they had trouble replicating and didn’t bother to look at possibly updating software till end of day (and I didn’t’ have loaner scheduled). So this time I have a loaner and I’m anticipating leaving my car overnight for DME update.

I get a call the following morning saying they still could not replicate the issue AND they checked my ECU but turns out I already have the latest software. Why they didn’t bother checking this a month ago – I have no clue. But I guess this is consistent with what I’ve said before. My car was a late build and I always felt my DCT was considerably better than the one I had tested out at the dealer. There were at times I felt it was slightly noticeable but it was never bad. And based on others’ feedback here, it seems the software addressed 90% of the lag so this all seems consistent. I just wish I didn’t have to bother leaving my car there for no reason.

So all you recent ‘flashers’ now have what I’ve had all along lol. Again, my lag is limited to when a/c is on, and when I’m rolling to a stop. And instead of coming to full complete stop I get back on gas and there’s slight hint of lag. Keeping it in manual mode mostly eliminates this.

Welcome to the 135is family. I love your taste exterion and interior! (same as me). All 'is' cars come with M Sport just like how all 135i (after a certain year, 2010 I believe) come with M Sport standard. What are your thoughts on the car? How does the driving experience compare to the e36 M3s?

If you did not already know the exclusive things that already comes standard to the "is" are the PPK2, PE, Gloss Black mirror caps, Style 313 wheels, Optional Black seats with blue stitch (floor mats have dark blue piping), 135is interior and exterior badges. I think 6MT 'is' cars comes standard with different pedals. Of course, other 1ers can have half these things added down the road.

How can I check which one I have?
Also I've noticed some reports say that they come with aluminum pedals. Although mine does not. Is this exclusive to the 6mt tranny? I only have the aluminum dead pedal. Also my car doesn't have the 135is badge on top of the glove box. And I can't seem to find it anywhere online

Take the last 7 characters of your VIN and then go to this link http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=861241. Fiddle around through the pages of that thread and you'll find a list of 586 135is coupes and find yours using your VIN.

It comes off fairly easy sadly. I wish it was anchored better to the dash. You'll probably just have to order one through you're dealership.

Welcome to the 586 club, great looking car - I believe this is the final list:

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=332

Owen looked up the badge and sticker part numbers - price is somewhat dear, but here they are:

01-29-2-160-475 ($.49)
01-29-2-160-476 ($.49)
51-14-2-160-474 ($56.26)

I ordered from getbmwparts, and they took forever to get here from the fatherland.

There is a discussion in the same thread about where they should go.

Well, I finally got home a few minutes ago...
- took a one way flight to VA

- took delivery
- met up with family for dinner
- drove it home

I am the new owner of #88/586. Exterior needs major TLC. Stay tuned for the thread...

I will start addressing the exterior. The previous owner really neglected it. Spring time will probably bring a few more things. The car is packaged very nicely. It drives pretty well.

Thanks, man! Yes, Le Mans Blue. It's been 10 years since I've owned a BMW. I've owned 2 E39s. My parents have owned a few - E60 530i, E46 330ci, Z3, and an X5. The 1er seemed the car that offered what I was looking for. I like the thought of a car that didn't require me to press buttons to get it to the real performance car that it should be.
