Thanks Matt we need to get this out there.

Maybe everyone can do their bit and spam Rick with emails to convince him to try and make it because I think it's just me bugging him at the moment

Hey Gents, I saw the boost gauge in XSBoost's 335i - it is a hot little number... If I could benefit from this mod, I would... but of no use for me I'm afraid!

Please explain the Map switching and will the mod create warranty issues at all?

These guages are the ants pants and it took me about 18mths to finally have Rick manufacture the RHD version for the 335, and that was after me sending him a RHD vent to model it off.

As a suggestion why don't you guys get together and support Andrew @ Southern BM. I'm sure if your short of the 20 units he would have a heap of potential customers to take any extra units.

While you may pay a few $ more than buying direct from P3, supporting a vendor so he can order a bulk lot would IMHO make better sense and probably get your gauges done much faster!!

18 months?? That's way too long. I've been told it only takes about 4 weeks to make but then again I've been told this for a long time. As far as I know, unless there is a decent amount of interest it isn't very profitable for Rick.

Awesome idea to recruit Andrew from Southern BMW!

I feel for you guys... but its all about the $$... we gotta keep the lights on I would love to just make everything everyone asks for, but if there is no profit potential, then its pretty hard to justify.

If we can sell enough units in the first batch to justify the cost of retooling we will have them ready in 4 weeks. The RHD parts are all designed, I just need to send it to production.

To put this in perspective, we had a list of 300+ people for the Left Hand Drive 135i gauge, so I think asking for 20 is fair enough

In other news, I am actually already working on a functionally equivalent version of the gauge the only difference being that the circuit boards are smaller and would fit both LHD and RHD, requiring just the mounting bits and glass to be retooled for RHD. This makes doing a RHD model a lot more cost effective. If we don't get 20, then we might end up just going straight to this version...

We've got 14 confirmed so far. Maybe a vendor can look at purchasing the final 6? I'm not sure... I just want this asap.

Yep it took Ric a fair amount of time to get it sorted for the RHD e90's but in the end we got an awesome product.

You should talk to Andrew and see if he can set something up, assuming he makes a fair margin on the 14 you have confirmed then buying another 6 for stock might make sense for him given the nature of his business is modding BM's and I'm pretty sure he has sold a few RHD e90 versions since they hit the market.

OK, The deal was i was going to do the 20 units for the RHD market. I had a deal with P3cars that all RHD units would be sold through me. However i had to commit to 20 units. The issue i have with 20 units is that i get hit with customs, duties, transactions costs, and GST on the 20 units. You guys go ahead and but 1 unit and by pass me and don't have to pay the customs, gst etc as you are under the threshold and are obviously going to buy them way cheaper than what i have to pay for them. The way i see it, i couldn't justify stumping up the 20 units as imagine the crap i would cop if i on charged all these costs to you guys not to mention if i had a warranty issue with a scratched screen or something....or a profit margin.....I previously sold them for $595 as the AUD was higher when i bought them, most likely to be $650ish (if they are ever made) from me. Having said all that, i was meant to get the first RHD unit to test out on my 135i to see if we had any issues and i'm still dead keen on them. The units are sensational and the units we have installed on 335i's all get great feedback. Some owners have had them at BMW dealers and feedback i have received from within the all mighty walls of BMW are very positive. Put me on the list if it helps gets numbers up there.

Thanks Andrew and with that we should now have enough numbers

So just to clarify, what is the final arrangement going to be? Are we selling all 20 units to Andrew and then they are being on-sold to us at a higher price? Or do the original 14 buy the units and Andrew buys the last 6?
