Nick, if you want it gloss black like mine, I would suggest the paint route. The stock grey diffusors actually don't cost much at all when the time comes for you to turn in the lease.

By the way, I would say gloss black so that it matches your grills & shadowline trim instead of the CF look.

The stock diffusor lists for like $75, but you know I can get a deal on it. I could have the guys paint it at my shop for pretty cheap as well.

To each his own but you could do either/or. I think a black wrapped top with a darker OEM colored antenna would go well. Grey, silver, etc. As for the bright solids, it might be a bit loud, you'd just have to see what you like the best. I personally think that an abrupt contrast on a plane (black and white) takes away from the fact that the roof was done that way to begin with.

It appears from the looks of the parts schematics that Ive seen in the catalog that this unbolts with 3 nuts on the bottom. Does that mean the headliner would need to be removed to take it out? Ive not looked at it yet.

So another perspective would be if you are trying to replicate the M roof how does BMW pair the color of the antenna? Gloss black. The roof rails are also gloss black.

I just purchased a 48"x72" section of 3M Di-NOC carbon fiber vinyl for my roof. My plan is to remove the antenna and factory roof rails and then have the vinyl applied. Then for about $100 I can buy a new primed antenna cover and have it painted. Last thing will be to get new roof rails. Havent priced them yet but hopefully they wont be too salty. Im excited to get my order in and the vinyl onto the car to say the least!

Sorry, I was brainstorming my own project and got a little carried away. It didnt really have any real relevance to your thread.

Given the shape of the diffuser it would be hard to vinyl wrap this part. Theres really not a way to wrap two halves separately either. If I come across a photo Ill be sure to look you up.
