Can anyone Identify this bumper???

Okay. Long story short I ordered a BMW Performance Aerodynamic bumper for my 2008 128i. I ordered the kit from BMW so that it included everything i need (part number from shopbmwusa). I received the package and everything was right except the bumper? I called BMW and they have no idea what bumper i got. Even after googling the part number and looking all around, theres only 1 other image of it on the internet (that i can find).

So please if anyone knows what this bumper is for/from id love to know.
Part # 51110301925

That is the factory M-Sport bumper design for the e87 hatches. It's quite rare to see. Kind of like the M-Sport bumpers on X3's at that time.

So what are you going to do? Swap the bumper or swap the grills?

To be fair, the part number listed on the bumper doesn't match anything online, nor on north american systems. I tried but clearly you have more experience at this than me and my local BMW.

Do you think it is swappable with the e82?

Edit: none of those links except the RealOEM show this exact bumper.

Yes, it should fit. Many euro 1er guys install the 135i bumper onto their cars. Or even the Performance front bumper. So this one should fit fine.

That part number is probably a casting number and not an actual BMW part number.

Can't blame you. It's unique. And it'll definitely fit...

The kidney grilles are different. Your E82 kidneys will not fit. And you'll have to buy some parts, probably; fog lights are in different positions, brake ducts, etc. might be different, too.

It's ugly as fuck and you should either kill it with fire or return it to the seller.

Update: It doesn't fit, just barley not wide enough

It's close but the 118i bumper isn't wide enough

Could you be more specific? It seems completely illogical for BMW to have created 3 versions of this chassis... but what do I know.

I don't mean to doubt your findings, but I've even looked up the part numbers for the the E87 and E82 fenders and hood - they're identical.

Honestly maybe if i tried heat i could of got it to work, it probably IS doable, but for my I just could't get it to work. I could almost get it over to clip in but if i did and tried to install the screw that connects the bumper to the fender it would rip right out because there was to much force on it. Another factor was the grills being a different size, so in order to get it mostly to fit i had to remove all of the support hardware that holds the grills into place. It just seemed as tho the bumper wasn't wide enough. Now there was a small pocket of space in front of the 1 headlight but again it just put to much force on that one little screw (It took 2 of us to get it close enough to attempt to screw it in).

For me personally a 1 series is a rather rare car around me so even if i can't have the euro exclusive bumper here, the performance bumper is almost just as rare.

Below is a photo showing how good of fitment i could get on one side, but the other just couldn't attach.

Thanks for the info. That's unfortunate. I wonder if it's a different bumper carrier that causes so much tension. What are you planning to do now?

The plan is just wait for the proper bumper to be re-shipped out and just use it (The Aerodynamic bumper), and give this one back sadly

Also the bash bar could interfere because American/Canadian plates are much bigger than Euro plates maybe, and the 118i is euro only?
