I have to resist the temptation...
5 years ago I bought my current M3/4 that had been modified by the original owner of the car. It was the first time I had ever bought a car modded and I figured it would really help me since I had been bitten by the mod bug on almost every car I have ever owned. I ordered my 135i two weeks ago, and I am already compiling a list of things to buy for it. I HAVE TO STOP!!! You know that CF diffuser would be way cool....argh!!!
Anyone else having this problem? Any tips on holding back?

Its always good to sleep on things for a while, who knows maybe in two months you'll find some wheels you'll like way more than the ones you like now. I say just do the essentials, for me thats tint and an upgraded stereo system, and maybe a drop, DAMMIT there i go again, one thing then another and another. Maybe just a tint for now and enjoy the car for a few months, stock. It's already a beast straight out of the box

Actually, I entered into the 135i 'thing' with a Dinan chip mod in mind, having had the car in hand for a week, I think I'll stick with the CDV and exhaust-tip mods as the car really does have enough power to satisfy the sane.

I'm torn. I want a 6speed manual by nature. But that A/T was sick fun to drive. Are you by Grants Pass?

Passed through Grants Pass this afternoon during a 100 mile break-in sortie. Got past the obligatory 100mph through the Applegate/238 ride. Driving can now be pursued responsibly.

Glad I am not the only one. Here's my list:
Tint Paint protection CDV delete SSK (want to figure out if we can do the clutch stop, too) rear fog light mod License plate frame Springs (H&R or coilovers - leaning towards H&R's for street) I am afraid that these are definite mods that WILL happen. I hope i don't start going crazy, otherwise I should have bought the M3 sedan.

I'm the SAME way OP! I have a show car and a daily driver. I always told myself that the mods belong on the show car, not the DD.
With that being said, here's my list. Tii Lip Spoiler Tii Steering Wheel Tii Front Bumper (eventually) 7500k Corona Bulbs Upgraded Pedals Tune (Not sure who yet) Rims That's as far as I've gotten. But before I can get any of that I've got to get my monthly payments going. Once I can get a few months ahead on my payments, then I'll be splurging

The key to resisting the mod bug is to replace the car with one that is pointless to mod. I had the mod bug on my SRT. I would with my tc but I could spend 10 grand on it and it'd be slower than my SRT.

I thought this car was perfect as is when I drove it. I ordered it and now I can't stop looking at mods for it!!
I am coming from a modded Mustang Gt where there is always something to do and parts are cheap! I need to stop looking before I go broke. Things I already want: Tints Clear bra on front bumper Exhaust Dinan Reflash (Prob a year or so from now) Roof spoiler The wait is killing me!

Be VERY careful with internet forums. When I purchased my 07 Acura TL-S I said I wouldn't mod it. Within 5 months I spent $7k in mods. What a waste.
The only mod I see soon on the 135i is eyelid's, debadge. When I say soon, I mean soon after I get one. 300 days is like I am in QUICKSAND. CRAP. |

I was really contemplating some pricy mods, then I decided to buy a '09 M3 (in addition to the 135i). Therefore all my planned mod money is now gone! I already did buy the shadowline grills, which are supreme and a must for sport package cars IMO. But planned wheels, coilovers, ecu reflash, etc. are no longer planned. Also it didn't help that I got my MV Agusta F4 1000 R out on the road a few times last week. That thing is a bullet and any leftover cash will find its way in that direction I'm sure.
So no more mods for the 135i! It's my DD anyway, so it'll just have to stay the way it is. Besides, you lose most if not all of mod money anyway. I don't want the 135i to be a sink hole. My M3 will come very well-equipped, so no reason to mod it either.
