So tell me... Is it just that it doesn't meet ADR Specs or is actually illegal in Aus?

I cannot imagine the cops would know that the exhaust doesn't meet the ADR...
So even if it's illegal what are the chances you will be pulled over for it! they would look at it and just think is OEM. |

Aftermarket springs aren't illegal as long as they don't put the car lower than a certain specified height. (100mm in QLD - I think)
If the Exhaust breaches state laws then the car is not roadworthy and the insurance company does not have to honour the policy - even if the part in question has nothing to do with the accident... - as far as I know... |

What?
Attached PDF states the requirements for both Lowering and Exhaust and all of what I said above was correct. (P4,5 & 6) Including the voiding of insurance... (Start P26) Whether or not an insurance assessor or cop would notice that the exhaust is non-ADR compliant is another thing entirely... If the "oh dear" is because this has been covered before.... it hasn't happened while I've been here so I missed that conversation... Last edited by Harlequin; 10-03-2011 at 04:44 AM.. |

I didn't say I wasn't gonna do it or that I wouldn't sleep at night....
I'm just the sort of person that likes to know all the facts before making a decision. Once I've satisfied my curiosity then I can make what's commonly referred to as an "informed decision" Having done that I'll sleep just fine... It's the not knowing that's likely to cause sleepless nights... but that's just me... |
