Nice, thanks.

Side note: after reading what I wrote, I meant "I DON'T know any snow sports...", but I'm sure you know what I meant.

Copper is also a pretty cool place to ski. If you don't want to drive to Copper, Winter Park is a little closer, but it is generally packed. Those are really the only two places I go since I have the Superpass.

Even though it is a bit cold, I can meet this Saturday if you guys would like.

This Saturday is already booked for me. How about next weekend? Or the weekend afterwards... or January... or February... or we can do it when it gets warmer.

That sucks... gonna snow this Sunday, then again next Tuesday. The forecast looks good for the rest of the week though.

Yeah, as long as there is snow on the ground, the 1er will be in the garage.

Some of you may cringe to this, but I drive mine in the snow; been doing it since I bought it last year while I was still stationed in Germany. It doesn't drive too bad as long as you have snow or all-season tires.

With appropriate tires, snow isn't a big deal. Having the WRX though, I don't have a need to take the 1er out in the snow. I see guys driving E46 M3's and 350Z's in the snow quite often and I always wonder if they put snow tires on, or got caught off guard in the storm. I even saw a guy driving an E39 M5 this morning.

I've been swapping out my wheels and tires for a dedicated snow package since last winter. Got caught off-guard by our first big storm here and had to drive with my Dunlop Direzza track tires.......big mistake!

I'm kind of jealous. I wish I still had my WRX for the snow. However, the 1 handles pretty well in the snow with Blizzaks on, and it is pretty fun in the empty, snowy parking lots.

That had to be an adventure and downright scary.

I still love my WRX. It's always fun to get tail happy in the empty, snowy parking lots. The first winter I had my WRX, I went to an empty, snow packed lot to practice drifting and figure 8's. Numerous people began showing up to teach their kids how to drive in the snow, though, seeing me probably wasn't a good influence on them.

I'm in need of a winter beater, though I'll probably use it in the other seasons as well. Anyone selling anything, or know anyone selling their vehicles? Must be in at least: 1996-present, good running condition, no rust, mileage under 150k, AWD or 4x4, and preferably a manual transmission.

I'm not sure of anyone selling a car, but I would look for used Subarus as Colorado is full of them.

That actually happened to me yesterday. Some people in a Camry were taking up one part of the parking lot while I was going crazy in the other.

That's awesome. At least people teach their kids how to drive in the snow instead of just throwing them out there.

Thanks for all the info! I thought of getting a Jeep or a truck of some sort. Hopefully I can find something decent.

Do you guys know where I can go to get a good car wash? Even though it is going to be sunny all this week, it still isn't warm enough to sit out there for one hour to hand wash the car.

Since I live in Aurora, I take the 1er to Autawash on Iliff & Havana. For an exterior wash and hand dry with towels, it's only $4.99. They have military discount and free popcorn!

Since taking the car to get washed there, I haven't experienced ANY scratching or similar damage. Also, I see lots of brand new cars from the nearby auto dealerships being taken there for a wash.

Edit: Since you live in Broomfield, there's this place in Westminster called The Wave Car Care Center. Looks promising; they use a touchless system.

So I ended up going to Car Wash Express located around 120th and Sheridan. It is a touch car wash, but my family members said they hadn't seen any scratches and the like after washing their cars there. They are right in that regard, but it doesn't really get my car clean. The entire back end is still dirty and same with the fenders. Oh well, it looks like I'll just hand wash it myself.

Weird. Autawash is a touch wash too, but boy, they clean it well (probably due to the exterior double wash). Even the crap inside the wheel well was cleaned out!

Hey 1ers! Hello from e90post world. I dont know if you already do, but you guys should check out the e90post Rocky Mountain thread once and a while. We are planning some stuff pretty soon. It looks like we are going to meeting up for the Euro meet on the 31st and probably go for a small drive and take some picts. Also, we are gearing up to carravan to MFest in Vegas in April. So, if you guys are interested then hit us up!

Also, we have a snowboarding thread to try and meet up for some winter fun!

Thanks, E92_SID! That's a great idea. I'll try to keep this post active so other 1ers will take interest.
