Back Seat and Kids?

I have two kids, 9 and 4. My 9 year old daughter complains that the RX-8 is too small and she gets sick on long drives. Does any one else have kids, how do they like the back seat, roomy enough for them?

If not my wife may ask me to move up to a 3 series. (She can ask but the order is in )

I know, I know, take them to the dealer... I have tried but its hard to get them all to want to go look at cars.

Roomy enough - but the thing that I believe makes kids sick is an inability to see the horizon - to be able to focus out of the car. Do you put the 9 year old in a booster seat?

No, but I could give that a try to see if that helps.

I am 7'5" 431# and fit fine in the back seat with my 6'9" 395# wife driving.

The back seat is fine for kids. I am actually 6'1" and fit fine in back with the front adjusted for me.

Two kids -- 11 and 8. They're fine in the back. They love riding in the 128. Although the young one does have to crane his neck a little to see over the high sill!

I will be putting my 14 year old daughter in the back seat once in awhile. She sat in the back of 1 at the dealer and said it was ok.
If she starts to complain, I'll put the top down so I can't hear her.

I did my 135i test drive with both my 7 and 9 year old in back. CA stayed at the dealership so we flew solo and gave it a good run.

My kids were squealing like piglets.

Come to think of it, so was I.

And they did fit OK in the back.

I'd rather stick my head in a public toilet.

Kitchen tables are for eating. Cars are for driving. Minivans are for both. Not BMWs. Period.

Not to get off topic here, but are you really Spud Webb?

Once I told my 8 and 5 year old I was getting a vert they were stoked. They kept asking when I would get it which made it worse because it won't be until June.

128/ two kids

I have a 9 and 6 yo, they like the back seat, the booster seat is a bit wide for rear, but she wants it to see out the window. I got the coupe because my kids hated the convertible M3, so go figure.

Mind if I pretend to be your kid and get a backseat drive in that M3

LOL

Draged them all to the dealers last night and I am happy to report, kids fit fine. Two thumbs up from them both. No need to move up to a four door 3 series!!!

If the rear windows do not open then I would go for the 3 series. Fresh air makes a huge difference for the rear passengers.

The rear seats are the worst place you can be in a convertible. You get buffet from the wind, no heated seats and you can not be part of the front conversation.
