Brisbane guys: Looking for a favour...
So I screwed up and curbed both the passenger side rims on my baby...
Want to get them fixed but apparently it will take a couple of weeks... I can't have my car off the road for 2 weeks so here comes the favour: Does anyone have a spare set of wheels (with rubber) that I can borrow for a couple of weeks? ...pretty please?? |

Apparently they're difficult to do because of the finish and the fact that they're "diamond cut"...
Also - there's 2 different finishes involved - the rim is painted dark glossy grey but the face of the spokes and very edge of the rim is a brushed finish... |

The shop must have loaner wheels. Every wheel place I've heard of or been to always have spares lying around that you can use.

Without knowing the extent of the damage...
Have you contacted The Touch Guys? They quoted abt $150 per wheel and do it at your place. No need to remove the wheels. I have seen some of their work on a car at Motorline. Couldn't see the repair.

Hey Angus I could lend you set of wheels/rubber if you get really stuck. Let me know and we'll work it out. Otherwise I heard the mobile guys are pretty good, I've been meaning to use them myself but never got around to it.

Hey angus - that's shit to hear - I think I'm parking an average of 6 foot away from all gutters since getting my new wheels . . . I CAN help you though! Have my old wheels and tyres sitting in the garage. Rubber is getting pretty bald but it should fine for a week or two. Welcome to them mate . . .
All I'll require is that new kerscher lip

Damn, sorry to hear that mate. hope it gets fixed to factory specs with no dramas- polished wheels/two-tone are slightly more difficult to fix with the tyre mounted (according to the mobile guy who came and did my old car) but still possible if not too badly rashed.
Looks like a few Brisbanites have come to the rescue |

Thanks for all the offers guys I'm still finishing up the house move - removalists just left.
Probably looking to do this in a few weeks when I have some breathing room so now that I know there are some spare sets available I'll revisit this topic when I'm ready to go ahead with it. I agree that it would be difficult to fix these on the car due to the 2-tone nature of the rims so I'd prefer to take them off the car and make sure they get done right. Oh, and James: Picked up the Kerscher Lip from the Post Office this afternoon. It's gorgeous and there's no way I'm letting it out of my sight. Hope to get it mounted tomorrow... |

I agree with your thoughts on dismounting the wheels off the tyre and having it done properly.
I've just emailed Brian@Echelon about ordering a lip Looks like it takes a month via DHL from Germany- was that the same with yours Angus? He said there shouldn't be any additional DB Schenker-style charges. Nothing like handling a big piece of carbon-fibre and admiring how light it is- I remember sticking on my performance spoiler and noting how much lighter it was cf the original white one, despite being almost triple in size! |

Damn, I didn't realise when you said the exhaust shop damaged your diffuser it was the CF one! I hope the repair to that is as per factory specs!

I will be happy if everything is all good. Have you seen Slek's CF lip seems to be the lip I will be getting instead of kerscher! |

I like the Slek Lip but I prefer the way the Kerscher one follows the line of the M Sport Bumper rather than the Crescent shape of the Slek one...
Also, I refuse to spend more than $500 on something that's mounted in the place most likely to cop an impact... |
