Park distance control - visible dots?
Will the 1er have visible holes on the rear bumper for the park distance control transmitters/receivers? Will they be color matched?

I've got PDC on my 330i and I think its great. My back alley is impossibly tight, and its helpful every day.
The dots aren't all that visible, and look much better than a beat-up bumper. |

I've never owned a car with the system - I've driven a lot of cars with them (and because I was testing those cars, I really used the systems). You can use them to get closer to things than you would using the Mark I eyeball. The best help they would provide me - in my driving - is during parallel parking.

My father has a 04 E55 AMG with Front and Rear PDC. Its amazing. But when it brakes it kind of annoying. Something flew by and the sensor's where going crazy lol. But its very useful espically in the city, and when i back it into the garage.

I had one on a car once and I really like them. They help when you don't know how close you are getting to a car, say when parallel parking. I'm sure they won't look bad on the BMW, and will match the color of the car. I would just ask a dealer, and maybe they have a car on lot that you can look at them and test them out.

I have them on my 04 330xi and love PDC. I back into my garage due to it being a tight side entry turn and it is very accurate. It is also great for backing into parking garage spots. Without it in other vehicles, I always seem to stop way short of the wall. Also great for parallel parking.

I rarely park my cars into really tight parking spaces, so the PDC is one less luxury and $$$ option I need not worry about. Plus, it only distracts the beauty of the rear bumper.

How does PDC work with/without iDrive? In the 5 it shows a virtual picture of whats behind you with iDrive (which I think is standard) but not sure how useful it would be w/o
