VA Scenic Drive
Guys I'm in the mood to do a fun day trip of driving scenic parts of Northern VA. This would be leaving from nova and ending up in Winchester. Figure stop for lunch as we please and just get out and drive and maybe stop for some pictures along the way where we can. Below is a map of the route i'm thinking. This would be open to anybody that wants to come. Let me know if you're interested!

This saturday is good for me. We should try and get a good group together. Past attempts didn't prove so fruitful.

I'd join you guys if I could, but I'm just too far away.... that's gonna be such an awesome drive. I see you'll be covering Route 211, and as per my post from April 27 in this subforum, I was down in VA at Easter and that stretch is simply amazing.
I'd kill for some twisty roads like that up here in Ontario.... I'll be with you in spirit. Enjoy!! |

Yeah i know its short notice Thought about it last night as something to do with the woman and figured some of you may want to join. I'll plan out another one at a later date when we can all go.
On a second note how are you still on snow tires?!?! they've got to be getting destroyed by now. I've been back on my summers since Feb.

would have love to ride along. unfortunately have a big wrench day. need to do a thorough once over the front suspension. have this really annoying clanking noise that has been driving me crazy. guessing is the sway bar links or who knows what. def put me down for the next one. should be a great drive. enjoy and take some pics

I got in the Alufelgen CS7 group buy in early Feb, it was supposed to deliver in 3 months so I was expecting early May, which wouldn't be a big deal to ride an extra couple of weeks on my winters. But now the damned wheels aren't getting here til about 2-3 weeks from now and there's no way I'm going to get summer tires mounted on my winter wheels, then remounted on my summer wheels, then my winters mounted back on the winter wheels.. that's $300 right there so it's less of a financial trouble to wear the winter tires off a little more. Car just drives like crap that's all... |

Had to do feb as that was when my first track day of the year was. Temps were in the high 60's for the track so wasn't bad at all. There were a few days of colder temps, but nothing that the tires couldn't handle.
J man sorry to hear. Guess we'll have to get something going for some other day. Lets try and get a date...any ideas? Also who's in for sure for tomorrow?

I'm in for sure tomorrow. But if no one else can go, I don't mind letting you and your girl have a quiet drive together

The weather was perfect Sat! Since it ended up just being me and the lady we stopped at Luray and did the full tour and saw everything there. I got a great drivers tan (left arm is nice and crisp haha) and the drive was a blast. I only did half of the proposed drive as we left later and she was tired, but it was still super fantastic. Their is a car and carriage museum I stopped by that I was expecting to be your normal run of the mill old Ford Model T's and some other generic cars of the time, but man was i surprised. There were a few ultra rare Rolls Royce's and some of the first Benz from the 1890's. Luckily we totally forgot to charge the camera so we got like 6 pictures and it died
So this means we need to set up a date in the future where we can all do it again. What weekend would be good for everybody?

I did the drive with just my lady and I, although, I'd be up for doing again if we could get a bunch of us to go.
