Programmable buttons
What do you guys/girls have your buttons set to? Wondering if anyone has better ideas. Here's mine:
1. Night mode toggle 2. Plugin 3. Navigate to work 4. Navigate home 5. Phone home 6. Split screen

You just press and hold the button you want to assign whatever page your on to.
IE: I set BT audio to 1 by going to the BT audio page and holding 1. Out of curiosity: what is night mode? does that light up the foot wells? Cause I could use that... |

Night mode changes the colors of your GPS screen to darker colors for night time driving. I think this can be set to automatic though, haven't looked for it yet! |

That's an M39x cockpit and nav. I just checked again in my (german spec) 1M. No, you cannot automatically activate the night mode (at least I don't see an option to). Pinmagic is right.

ya I don't think we have "automatic" option for day/night mode. I was watching some tutorial videos on BMW's website regarding the NAV and they said there was an automatic option for the 1er but when I went to my car I didn't see it. So we have to manually change the NAV to night mode

How can you NOT put the nav voice (on/off) as one of your buttons??? Sometimes, I just have to shut that be-atch up!
Seriously, Jeremy Clarkson reviewed a 5-series on Top Gear a while back, and he was lamenting that the voice was incessant and annoying, and that he couldn't figure out how to turn it off. It was pretty funny.

I normally have the map up, and I figure if it is displayed, might as well have a white line also. I almost always send destinations to the car using app or Google. Pretty much a nav nerd.

Also, the voice control is usefull for some stuff. Might be able to free up a button or two for something more "useful".

*facepalm*
I had NO IDEA the buttons had that much functionality. Guess I better go play with my car some more today. Personally, I'd love to reverse the right steering wheel toggle for the music FW and REV settings as well as the map zoom from counter-clockwise to clockwise... |

1 radio station
2 radio station 3 tone settings 4 trip computer 5 call wife's cell 6 call home I am going to have to give up one for the nav screen night mode toggle, hadn't thought of that but it takes way too many steps to change it and I hate it when it is in the wrong mode. |
