Have you seen VO in the flesh? Otherwise how do you know you made the right choice? I did the opposite changing from BSM to VO and I'm in agony!

Might have to do the same myself.

unfortunately i didnt have a chance to see VO in the flesh - they only got an AW on display at the welt in munich...

dont get me wrong - i still think VO is the colour which suits the car best - enhancing all the curves and everything - and something different - almost every bmw around here is black...

its just all my cars have been kind of sleepers so far (like my winter volvo) de-badged and grey - i always went with some understatement

additionally i am not sure wheter i would like the orange colour in two or three years to come - as i am not fortunate enough to replace my cars once a year

maybe it is just me feeling to old for an orange car at 31 or i am not brave enough like most friends and relatives said ( most of them suggested to go with VO btw)

Wow, must big a big dealer or high volume M retailer. 3 1M's in a month.

My dealer has two (including mine and their demo) in 6 months.

Dealers need to order the plaque seperately - the info only went to dealerships in the last couple of days - in time for the official launch of course ;-)

The good news is that this means that if anyone wants to change the gear-lever and ash-tray surround to the BMW Performance CF part, their dealership can do that and then apply the badge... or I guess if you ask nicely just not apply it at all!

I was told the same by my dealer - once they have the VIN number they can order it.

Thanks for the kind comments - The weather not great hear but hopefully tomorrow (after a clean) I get lots of shots done and posted. I seen the plaque and will order it from my dealer, but not sure if it's available yet? I've got an E92 M3 with DCT (modified heavily) so will do a good comparison between the two. Might take both to oulton park and go back to back in them.

Very nice loving the interior pics makes me even more excited about mine. One question though, notice you don't have a number plaque on the ash tray. I was speaking to the UK advertising/business development person for the whole UK 1 series range at BMW head office who advised that ALL UK cars will have a plaque reading 'ONE OF 450' and the reason being so that there will be no more than guaranteed 450 1M in the country. Did you ask your dealer about this at all?

It's all gone tits up already, BMW released the cars to dealers without putting the plaques on, so now the cars are arriving at dealers WITHOUT the plaques and leaving the dealer to 'order' one for each car and I guess put on at pdi.

However, as you can see, cars are already being put on the road without, so who knows how 'extra' car will sneak through without a plaque? 450 ++++

Sorry BMW, but it sounds a bit half hearted to me.

Will this plaque be available on US models as well?
