A wet autox would be tons of fun. I'm still testing the water so to speak, I may be able to pass off not being around on Sunday as "writing a paper" or some other collegiate nonsense. We'll see.

Breeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzyyyyyyy .. and still cold.. Im really having issues with my RS3's and cold weather and trying to accelerate smoothly. cant wait for freaking hot weather..
Nice turn out.. about 66 cars i think. we had to move over to the larger section of the lot because SCCA had a mix up with go carting that took our usual spot.. nice course about 40 sec average, but a little confusing. alot of guys DNF'd the first / second run.. but then got a hang of it. I met up with 2 guys from work I got a 43.8 my buddy got a 41.2 in his VERY boosted Eagle Talon AWD. FTD was 36.0 in a GT3( pro driver) usual hot shoes were pulling 38's and 39's. 8 runs in total.

it was def not good weather for the rs3s. my new dunlops were getting no heat in them whatsoever either. they werent even scrubbed in, plus i think the sealer on the lot was slick as ice. ive never spun my car @ an event, well i popped its cherry this time LOL! i was also have a hard time with my brakes and the bumpy lot. had a few pucker moments for sure when i had a dead pedal!
def a course where you have to break habits, you actually had to drive slow to go fast! it was fun none the less. i ended up w/ a 38.2 knowing i had more in it if the tires would stick. infact my 2 cars brought home 3 trophys. the forester took 3rd in SM/SP, and the miata took 2nd Lady and 2nd ST w/ her co driver. i was jealous and even took the miata for a instructor run, only did a 41.4 though LOL! |
