What would you pay for this 135i?
Tomorrow morning I'm looking at an 08 135i AW/CR 6 speed with the M package. Its a 1 owner, clean carfax, owned by an older woman in NJ who claims its in excellent condition inside in out. Dealer maintained, new brakes, tires, thermostat, and water pump.
Only concern I have so far is the mileage, 82k. I don't have a problem with higher mileage cars in general, but these turbos do worry me a little. What do you guys think and how much would you pay? Asking price is 18k Thanks! |

Was liking everything about the car... until I heard that part.
A newer model BMW just out of warranty and pushing 100k... typically sends up a few red flags for me. If possible, I'd get it checked out by a great/reliable/trustworthy mechanic first, and get their opinion. Price is decent, but even if it's in good condition, it could need some serious maintenance in the near future... and you should be prepared for that. Otherwise, it seems like a good deal. I'd still try to get the price down a bit... but that's just how I negotiate. |

The car is 5-6 years old, depending upon in-service date. That's 14-16k/yr, which really isn't bad. With dealer maintenance, they prob sold her everything it possibly needed. Does she have receipts? It sounds pretty good, if the price is in line with your region. I also think the price for turbo replacement has dropped a lot in recent years.

Well, I usually get rid of my cars before they hit 100k... but regardless, at 16k a year, the car was probably out of warranty in 3 years. Did it receive the same type of upkeep/maintenance after the warranty had expired? Who knows... A trustworthy mechanic would the best person to talk to about this one.

If it's truly a one-woman owner and there's been no modding, then it's probably a good buy. Chances are the car hasn't been tracked or even pushed hard. That's what I would worry about with used 135is - has it been abused?

My New 2010 135i
I purchased a 2010 CPO Alpine White 135i on Sunday from BMW of Escondido. The car had 26K miles on it and was previously owned by the owner of the dealership (single owner). The car had the short throw performance 6speed shifter installed and performance exhaust installed at port upon initial delivery. Black boston leather, cold weather package, M sport package, sunroof, carbon fiber trunk lip, black grills, black antenna, black mirrors & four brand new run flat tires. No Nav. They had the car for two days and were getting calls from all around the country. The owner of the car/dealership wanted to keep it in California so he held off from selling it to a guy in Florida and another guy in Texas. They were asking $32,500.00 and sold it to me for $31,000 with the .9% BMW financing over 72 months. They also gave me $19K for my Jeep Wrangler. The payoff was $16K.

The car is amazing. I was looking for some time to find one with the options I wanted (6 speed manual being #1). As soon as I pulled up to the dealer and saw it sitting out front I was sold. Was so excited Sunday night I barely slept. The short throw shifter and upgraded exhaust truly turn this car in to such a pocket rocket. I love how unless you're a bimmer guy, you really have no idea what you're looking at. A true beast in disguise.

Ended up buying the car. It was in awesome shape and pulled like a freight train. She had every single maintenance record since purchase. Final price was 17k, picking her up tomorrow! Will post pics and an introductory thread. |

[QUOTE=adb1028;13991443]What?? This has no relevance to my question, make your own thread
Simmer down there buddy! You were asking questions about what one should pay for a used 135i. Thought you might care for some up-to-date market info. But keep fist pumping along the shore. It's cool. |

Hmm... not sure. I'm pretty new here myself, but I was able to create new threads. Maybe because you have a more recently created account (last 24hrs or so)... I'd give it a few days.

I think there may be a minimum number of posts before you can start a thread. I agree thats a sweet rid and deserves its own post. Let me know and I will be happy to start a post for you. Congrats - I love my 135i - Only one car I can think of that I want more and that is the M3.
