Berk Muffler Delete Axle-Back (with balancer tube)

I picked up the Berk axle-back a little while back, and was one of the unfortunate to experience the "Horn" noise. Berk worked on and developed a version with a balancer tube targeting the horn noise as a resonance issue.

The Final version? A perfect sounding exhaust note, deep and aggressive across the RPM band with minimal if any true drone at highway speeds. I'd say that actually 2k is about the closest to a drone but really it is nothing that I would call an issue at all. I know some of you are wary of drone and perhaps its all in the eye of the beholder, but there is nothing about the 2k noise that I would call excessive. Plus just a nudge past 2k and it settles in nicely, and most of us live in the 2.3 to 2.7 range on the highway...

No I did not before and after dyno, and i'm not going to. I autocross, and felt the system deliver my power smoother after install. There has been no drop-off felt between the "horn" version and this version with the balancer tube.

(sound clips should be coming, I don't have a video camera)

How about a pic....I'd like to see what this balancer tube looks like....is it similar to AA or aFe exhaust?

Only have this bad camera phone pic for now. I didn't realize how bad it was before i was no longer in a position to take a good pic. The tips are exactly the same as the standard axle-back, the balancer tube is upstream enough to not be visible unless you're underneath the car.

Hmmm. From the pic it looks like it is some sort of cushioning device. Does it rest against the frame or some other place. Do you know the principle behind it?

It's not the dark vibration dampener. On the right side exhaust, it's in-between the two top plates.

See below...

It was originally my plan to get the sound bite yesterday at our season finale, but i got too wrapped up in the cones I kept hitting to get my friend to record it, we have two events this weekend though, so I shouldn't be able to forget for both days...

I am in discussion with a guy at Berk now. He has been really helpful. I think I may have figured out why mine is making a funny noise, but if I can't resolve it on my own this weekend Berk is going to help me out.

From what I understand, this only applies to old designs. I think may noise is something different.

Will keep everyone posted, but Berk has been nothing but good to me so far.
