My 135i N54 vs a 135i N55 same mods and same gas. Both FBO. Both JB4 ISO. I walked him every time. Ended up about a half car length to a car length ahead every time. Good day for me.

I have a buddy with a CTS-V (cammed out, mean exhaust, says ~565HP) that has been trying to get me to run at the local drag strips last test and tune for the year

I'm JB4 G5, BMS intake, AR DP, Berk Mid, ER CP, ST Coils, Hankook V12s, and 23lb wheels. 6MT--same as him.

How would this end up?

not sure, but i would suggest you find someone that will let you borrow some drag slicks and get some race gas and run in map 7. i think that would get you really close. keep updated if you do it or not. thats something i would love to go up against at the strip!

I've watched him run 12.3s-12.5s. I figured we'd be close but I haven't ran the 1er yet. Want to get an FMIC on before seriously hammering down on it too hard. I told him spring time we are good to go but I might try him in 2 weeks provided weather is decent.

I hit 12.5 with race gas and map 7. Think I could get to 12-12.3 if I worked on my launch and dialed in first gear boost limit. If I had drag slicks I think I could get 12 no problem. It was pretty hot that day too. I think stock fmic would still work out with fine with race gas and map7 for 5-6 times down the track.

My fastest time is 12.2 with 1.9 60 foot on map 3. Im full bolt but still have stock FMIC and run meth. My buddy with a 335i practically has the same set up as me and runs high 12s. so depending on your mods it should be a close one! are you sure its the 500+ hp cts-v?

Well considering he can't launch his car a 09+ CTS-V is a 12.3 @ ~116 car, completely stock.

Pushing 565 rwhp, I assume, (556 BHP stock) his car is capable of running well into the 11s and over 120mph. Yes, it might weigh over 4k but those cars move out.

I hate to say it but theres not much motor work that needs to be done to get 600rwhp other than swapping the cam. Doing a pulley swap, installing a healthy cam, intake/snout/TB, full exhaust, meth and a custom tune will get him there easily.

Run him and see what happens. You never know whats going to happen.....

I don't post on here often, mostly just read and learn from other members. I thought this was an appropriate time since I had my first impromptu race the other day. A GTO passed me just driving down the interstate, normal highway speed. A few miles later he was in the right lane going about about 75, me 80 in the left, passing. He speeds up to match me, clearly wanting to get into it. We look at one another, nod, and drop the hammer. I take it from about 80 to 130ish before letting off, had him by at least a car length. I beeped, we gave each other a thumbs up, and I'm 1-0. 2011 135i, stock.

Its crazy how CTS-Vs have 150-200 HP (556-600hp) over a full bolt on 135 (400 HP) and yet they run similar times! good job BMW!

yea... well aware of all that as the town I live in was built around a GM plant (everyone tries to beat the foreigner-aka me-all the time. I get Camaro's and mustangs that never leave me alone just because they want the bragging rights of beating a BMW. I shocked them all and now things have settled down)

There's a lot of heavy hitters in the area but him and I are two of the more noticeable vehicles because we are "luxury" that are tuned/modified and that's rare for a blue collar city.

I'm going to run him but it won't be this season--took car in today because Vanos failed

Haha dude that's not even close to the truth though... I'm sure you're about to quite some forum times. Just trust me, from real world experience, it's just not the case.

While I admit to having had my fun against various cars on the street, this stuff really should be kept on the track, be it 1/4mi or road course.

To me, there is a lot more satisfaction beating someone on a road course during an HPDE. Its also way safer and doesn't put unwilling participants at risk like an open road shoot-out.

Well, considering the V weighs in over 4200 lbs the 1er has about a 700-800 lb advantage over it. Weight is always the key feature that people forget but a simple tune or pulley swap will have the V easily into the 11s.

That sucks about the vanos. I'm sure by that time he'll be near his 600rwhp goal. I never get anyone wanting to race me unless its some POS car/truck that is pushing, maybe, 200 hp.

An 05/06 GTO.....no, unless the driver misses a shift....a 04 GTO is plausible seeing as the driver can't shift or doesn't know his car.

I use to own a 06 GTO by the way until I was rear ended by a jackass texting......if it weren't for that then I would still have the car.

My fastest time in a 1/4 is 12.2 with street tires...this guy was saying his friend was running low to mid 12s...so how is this not "close to the truth"? my car is rated at around 400 hp while the cts-v is rated at 550hp. thats a 150 hp difference. I realize the weight difference in the cars but nontheless its satisfying to know that we are running similar times.

Add Corvette C5 with 100 shot nos to the list!
and C5 full bolt on w/cams...

vs cammed C5 by a fender.

vs C5 + nos by a car -
