ActiveE Has Launch Control?
My ActiveE was picked up last week and I figured id say this as it hasnt been mentioned to my knowledge.
But the ActiveE has launch control, which I find to be really funny. I havent played with it yet, but the car has a lot of grunt for a commuter car. Cant wait to explore it all more. I also cant wait to use that LC at autox this summer Ohh also it doesnt have a center armrest...really BMW? I get trying to save weight where possible...but how much can the armrest possibly weigh? |

I did a blog post on the launch mode. There is a little difference, but not much. I think it is more of an appendage left over from the regular 1 series, and not something they spent time to develop.
http://activeemobility.blogspot.com/...t-so-much.html Also, the transmission tunnel on the ActiveE had to be redesigned to accommodate the battery pack in it, so it is slightly larger and sticks up a little higher in the ActiveE cabin than it does on the other 1 series cars. The center console is slightly different and the stock 1 series armrest doesn't line up perfectly as it does to make it a simple bolt on addition. You can make it work, and I know people that have, but BMW will not officially endorse doing it. That being said, I think you can buy one and add it yourself without any problem. However I would suggest not asking permission, because the answer will be no you can't. (official company line) |
