bmw free 4 year no charge free maintenance.

What is included in the 4 year no charge free maintenance. I was told that it would only consist of oil changes. Is this true. If not what else is included. I'm not talking about the upgraded maintenance, I'm just talking about the basic no charge free maintenance that comes when you purchase a new bmw.

In Canada, Inspection I will be free at about 50,000km (if it is within 4 years), together with brake fluid flush and cabin filter, as called for by the condition-based maintenance alerts.

oil at around 10-15000 miles, brake pads, windshield wipers, any defective part (like hpfp). I mean if it breaks and it isn't your fault then they should replace it. They won't replace tires, wheels, dents, scratches, interior damage...

Belts, bearings, hoses, clutches, brake pads, rotors...basically I was told if it is a wear and tear item it's not covered.

Maybe it's different in Canada, but I'm in Orange County at Crevier BMW and they specifically told me pads were covered... I'm not sure about belts, bearings

No wear items are covered in the standard free maintenance in Canada.

That's right - you have a year from the date of purchase to pay $1,200 for the wear items warranty service upgrade. Your clutch disk as well as brake pads are not covered in Canada. I am even worried about the faulty LED tailights in Canada - who is on the hook for those? Are those considered wear items?

I went to my local dealership where I bought my 128i and asked them to check my brakes because they squill, and they said it was just brake dust.
After that every time I went in, I asked them to check the brakes and on my last one they told me the pad and rotors are worn that I will need to replace them. Replacing is fine, but the cost was about 800 bucks for all the front brake pads and rotors. So I ended up paying for it and my KMs were only around 25000. If brakes are covered in canadian warranty, then I obvious was lied by the dealership.
Can someone just confirmed this for me?

In Canada, wear items are NOT covered. Brake pads, rotors, clutch disk belts, bulbs, hoses etc. You have up to 12 months to purchase additional extended warranty.

Are you sure you have up to 12 months to purchase additional extended warranty. I was told that after the car rolls of the lot I am not allowed to purchase any additional extended warranty.

I highly doubt the brake pads are covered, however a local dealership had told me that the 4yr maintenance plan covered absolutely everything. I recently had the LED's in my rear taillight go out and brought it to the dealership, they replaced the whole light for free so I would imagine that certain wear and tear items might be covered. Would be awesome if they covered the brakes.

I have no idea why not brake pads and rotors were worn at onl 25000 kms. the dealorship told me that they are high performance brakes so... for an extra braking power you give up the lifetime on them.
I gotta admit that I drive like a teenager sometimes.
Accelerate really hard and brake really hard... but I still don't think these could be reasons for brake pads and rotors change at 25 clicks.

25,000kms is not uncommon on BMWs if the car is driven aggressively all the time. 50,000kms is about average for front brakes (usually higher for the rear), some people may get up to about 100,000kms if they drive very gently and on the highway a lot. Most of the time the rotors will need to be changed with the pads, as they are a wear item that seems to wear at the same rate as the pads.

Warranty in Canada is the same as in the US - 80,000kms / 50,000miles or 4 years (whichever is sooner) bumper-to-bumper, same rust-through and emission systems warranty.

Maintenance coverage is different between the two countries.

I had replaced my rotors/pads around 60000KM, didnt go to stealership cuz they charged me $1200 + tax.
Instead, I went known mechanic and paid $1000 flat.
3 years / 60000 for $800 sounds pretty fair to me. does it include tires as well?
