Do you think it would be worth it to trade in my 2008 128i?
I have a 2008 128i that I have been trying to sell but..no luck
I'm selling it cause I need something with 4 doors a little more cargo room Do you guys think it would be worth trading in my 2008 128i for a 2005/2005 x3 2.5? or is that a totally crazy idea?? |

It's up to you whether or not it's crazy. If you need more room, then you're pretty much stuck.
I had a 2006 X3 3.0 Sport. It was aiight, not the best SUV for the money, that's for sure. If you can afford it I'd look for an X5, or look outside BMW.

The X5 is a little too big for me. We just purchased an 06 X5 4.8, however we would prefer not to have the dog in that car
What did you like or not like about the X3? Is there a reason why I should avoid it? |

Noisy..bad handling..engine is way too small for the x3 just an overall over priced BMW ...kinda like the bmw 318ti. You can get a much better ute for the money. Ford edge, used volvo xc90..you can even pick up a jeep cherooke 2008 for extremelllllly cheap..and it has a very decent engine etc.. I drove an x3 2.5 for 2 months and it has to be one of the worst vehicules I have ever owned. I suggest you read some reviews.

I was not impressed by the X3. I found it a little pricey for what it had an it was to heavy for the power. I would go for a 3 series sedan instead. There really isn't much more room in the X3 over the 3 series sedan. I think the sedan drives WAY better and has plenty of room. Living in Montreal you may want the IX version for the AWD. My wife has a new MDX for our family hauling (very happy with it...lots of room, good power and tows my boat nicely) but before that she had an Infinit G35 M6. That had a big back seat and a huge trunk. The only downside was the rear seat didn't fold down. That car was a good car and we got it for a good price. Maybe give that a quick check.

Audi Q5? This its much nicer then the X3, but I don't like SUV's period...how about an A3? Can you tell I came from Audi
But really your not going to get $35k for a 128i right now, probably $31.5k now, time of year, its almost 2 MY old, and you can probablly get a deals on a new 128i '09 right now. Sorry but sometimes you just have to be real about things. |

just to let you know. If you sell it now versus if you sell it maybe a few years down the road. Your going to get pretty much the same price. If i were you i would just lease a Rav 4 or something cheap and keep the 128i for weekend fun car. |

My friend had an x3 2.5.....not enough power in that engine. Up a hill with 4 people it felt like a toboggan. My wife just bought a Tiguan....it has the GTI engine, and is a lot more snappy than the x3. I think brand new it would cost the same as a used x3.

Well.. I did it.... I traded in my 128i for a 2006 X3 3.0.
I think it was a good trade. The trade in value of my car was $27k and the origianl price of the X3 was $38900. So I had to put about $7k on top, with the 1.9% financing rate that they had for the X3 |
