Trade: N54 VRSF 7" HD Intercooler for N54 ATM

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
As the title states, I bought a 7 inch VRSF that I'm considering trading for an ATM intercooler. Mine is brand new, never installed and comes with the Lower charge pipe and 4 couplers (only 3 will be needed). Capable of fitting any charge pipe including the long version ER. I will consider a trade for a new or lightly use ATM.

I will consider it, but I'd like to know more info.

What is the fin density on the one you have? I already did trimming, so it doesn't matter whether that's needed or not. Please take a pic and also let me know how long it's been used and what condition it's in. All info you can provide will be helpful.

Thank you

I genuinely do not know the exact fin density. Perhaps you can get an idea from Cobb directly: https://www.cobbtuning.com/products/...nt-intercooler

I purchased the car with the FMIC installed, and all the mods have 3-5k miles of summer use (verified by Carfax). I've removed the bumper to work on the headlights, and in doing so, I had a chance to inspect the intercooler for fitment and shape. It obviously fits perfectly and appeared to show minimal wear. The car is very low mileage and does not consume oil, so the core is expected to be flawless.

My plan is do go with upgraded turbos and I'm currently looking at the VRSF 7" HD. A trade would be great since I wouldn't have to worry about selling the Cobb. My old 135i had the regular 7" and I'm already familiar with the cutting and mounting concerns, which I'm OK with. I can take pictures if you are serious.

I'm serious about this, just give me some time to research it this evening after work so I can see if it what I'm looking for.

What I want is the smallest volume intercooler and piping with the best flow characteristics and enough cooling ability to prevent heat soak during the hot summers of socal. I plan on upgrading to hybrid turbos eventually and will get a bigger intercooler then, but for now I feel like the VRSF 7" HD is a bit overkill for the stock turbos. I want to reduce turbo lag and keep the WGDC % down as much as possible. I like power, but prefer efficient power.
