Product for leatherette maintenance?

Hi folks,

My 2010's black leatherette seats are holding up great so far, but lately I've noticed the beginnings of a couple tiny cracks on the side of the drivers side bolster.

What does BMW (or the peanut gallery) recommend for leatherette preservation?

I use 3D Liquid Leather on my interior. It is made for leather, vinyl, and plastic. Cleans, conditions, and protects in one step. Contains mink oil for extra softness and extends the life of these materials, and is also non greasy. Plus it protects against UV rays. Leatherette is mostly, if not all, vinyl.

Nextzett Cockpit Premium.
The only product I tried that actually maintains/enhances the matte finish on all vinyl surfaces while offering UV protection.
Made in Germany, affordably priced, has pleasant scent and is available through Amazon.
All else pales in comparison.

I would probably go with Aerospace 303. I really like the finish it leaves, almost completely matte, and has very high UV protection, I think SPF 40.

Hi guys,

Thanks so much for the recommendations. I actually concurrently wrote Jason at getbmwparts.com to ask if (to his knowledge) BMW had any specific recommendations for this application, but he replied that they didn't, although he had personally heard of folks using Zaino, Vinylex, Aerospace 303 UV protectant, Meguire’s and Mother's.

After a bit of Googling around detail boards, etc, I went with the Nextzett products I found in Bezos' garage along with the Nextzett 91480615 'Gummi Pflege Stift' Rubber Care Stick for the weather seals. We shall see how that works out.

McGuires leather conditioner. Basically any top quality conditioner with aloe Vera will help keep moisture in the leather itself and maintain the condition. If cracks get worse and it's not the moisture but rather scratches. You may need to consider dye for the seats. But if that's the case I'd only get it done by professionals if your not comfortable giving it a go DIY

Have a look at Mothers VLR. Recommended for vinyl, leather, rubber. Just started using it. Works great at cleaning, protecting against cracking and doesn't leave a slippery finish on your seats that's a real drag on fast corners.

DUB Interior Clean & Shine works pretty good without a lot of shine and smells like grape drink!

I've used 303 on the vinyl trim of my cars for years, so seats should be no problem. FYI - 303 claims to work on leather, but I personally would go for a proper leather conditioner in that case.

I've also heard good things about Optimum Leather Condition (works on vinyl as well), and just ordered a bottle to try. Might look into that one as well.
