One thing I just did to my car was have it aligned by someone I trusted, as well as put as much negative camber in the front wheels as you could without camber plates. While it was up on the lifts you could definitely see how uneven the wear was after 8000 miles of street driving and one autocross. Hopefully this will help things out. We'll see how things go on the 23rd.

One thing I did notice was just the overall ride on the street was vastly improved, possibly by just the -0.6 degrees of camber I managed to pull or maybe just the alignment (the alignment was further off than i had expected.) Before resorting to new tires you might want to try that out.

ran -2 neg cam at track last two days-
got a few laps of a more balanced handling,
until the fronts overheated
presently after 5 limited track days the fronts oems
are corded.
I prefer one non-staggered 17 or 18 set-up
using the same off set so I can rotate the tires,maybe have 245s,
trying to help this car to turn.

Anybody know if this is possible?

WhiteOut: Swap them left to right on the rim, to even out the wear, if you do not get a warranty replacement on them. I think the issue is the lack of negative camber from the factory up front. How much negative camber did you get? Is the alignment pin removed from the strut hat?

Are you running stock sizes? And can you get the alignment sheet to check out toe?

I had a similar problem on my E46 with expensive PS2's - turned out to be the toe angle (this was with the locating pin removed, stock sizes).

I imagine it would only be exacerbated with wider tires up front...

Yeah, you'll definitely need camber plates to help that issue (Vorshlag has a nice set for the 1). You can't get much neg camber out of stock BMWs.

You can get a little more negative camber, if it is removed.

I was pretty set on buying those tires but I am definitely rethinking that now.

That wear looks pretty normal to me. A track will always put more wear on one side of the car. You shouldn't expect your tyres after a track session to look like just normal road wear, which is all even and smooth.
