2006 325i auto trans pictures
I got 43K miles on my 06 325i zsp with auto trans & will probably do transmission oil change at 50K. Pictures taken at driver's side showing ZF trans with drain plug (round black plastic resin with open/close direction & torque/0.8nm) while fill plug is on the side (aluminum color) directly located above drain plug. Warning label says " lifetime oil " but tells you to use only BMW oil # 83220142516 and oil filling temp. The transmission housing bottom is probably made of black plastic resin with heat-sink design to aid in cooling the transmission oil. Please post where to buy the BMW oil. thanks.

I'm not sure why you are posting in the 1 series forum.
But when I went to change the manual transmission fluid in my E46 a couple of years back, the dealer mistakenly quoted the price for the BMW auto trans. fluid - which was over $300. As far as I know, it's only available from a BMW dealer, and I suspect you really should talk to a knowledgeable BMW mechanic before trying a substitute. Luckily, Redline MTL works just fine for BMW manual trannies. Tom Last edited by Tom K.; 06-08-2009 at 10:44 AM.. |
