The 135i emblem not matte black, but the diffuser is and the roundels are. Also it's a quick phone picture.

I purchased both matte and gloss emblems and ended up preferring gloss. Here are the gloss ones installed...

I felt the matte emblems didn't look finished enough. They also lose their 3D dimension because they don't reflect/shine much.

If the rest of your car has a matte black theme I think you could still pull off gloss emblems. Of course you may prefer matte emblems in person, this is just my preference.

FYI my rear diffuser is Jet Black with Satin clear which pairs very nicely with black emblems

I have gone for the same, great look. IMHO, since the window frames are gloss black, so should be the 135i characters. BTW, if you have the MSport package, consider putting an M logo in front. You're entitled

My diffuser is satin which has a little bit of a sheen and it looks great. I think you are good either way.

Noted, I will do matte at first. Post some pictures up, If anything I'll just re do it with gloss.
