Fresh tint...
Just got it tinted this morning (my first mod). Very happy with the result and wanted to share a couple pics.

Yeah, here in Florida I haven't had problems in the past with dark tint on my cars so I am not too worried about it. The only time I got warned about it was when I got pulled over in my Mini Cooper for speeding and the cop said she was "being nice" for not ticketing me for that too.

If you are asking for specs on the tint %, I can't tell you for sure right now. An old friend of mine owns a tint business. He came by today and asked me what I wanted done. He has been in the business for like 20+ years and always does a good job (he has tinted like 14 cars for me and my family in the past), so I just told him I don't care and make it look good. I didn't even ask him what % he did. He did something light on the windshield and did the rest darker. Based on what he has done for me in the past, I think it is 18%. The brand he uses is SunTek, and it is the Carbon series that doesn't interfere with electronics.
The specs on my car are: 128i Jet Black Terra Leather Premium Package Value Package Convenience Package Non-sport (i know, i know, this is a fail for many of you, but when my budget allows i may go with the performance suspension. i definitely miss the stiffness of the sport suspension a little bit like what i had in my previous mini cooper, but i am getting used to it) Some new wheels might be my next mod. I just got to be careful, spending too much time on these forums will break my bank. Last edited by CommaD; 02-23-2011 at 05:25 PM.. |

Here is an example: The photos below are of my 2 previous cars. Believe it or not, they have the same exact tint on the front windshields. The Crossfire appears much darker because there is less light from the inside. They both, however, have the same visibility from the inside out. Last edited by CommaD; 02-23-2011 at 09:35 PM.. |
