While I'm waiting here at the local PPF shop to have XPEL Ultimate protect the part from road debris, here are some iPhone pictures of the [Boca Carbon GTS Front Lip, BMW E82 1M] part itself: The part is distributed from Germany, but manufactured in China. For a 2x2 twill carbon fiber piece, I'd rate it an 8 out of 10. Priced as it should. Some very basic tell tales for great manufacturing process on carbon fiber parts are: - No visible overlap of different layers running through the mid-portions of the piece; - Corners have overlapping carbon fiber layers rather than black glue or resin marks; - Inside remains raw carbon fiber with little to no glue residue; and - The matte or glossy finish has no notable wrinkles or ripples. All of the checks were good except the glue/resin used along the corners, which is common for aftermarket carbon fiber parts. Also for this piece, it doesn't really matter since no one will be on the floor inspecting the corners of the highest road-debris-to-car contact point. TLDR: the quality of the part is perfect! Can any of you who have the Boca Carbon Fiber lip installed take a picture of the underbody? I'm curious if your shops had to drill any extra holes
Using only the ones provided just don't give it the nice and flush look that I'm seeing from the pictures - there are no securing brackets on the front side of the splitter Last edited by DSCPLN; 07-22-2016 at 08:41 PM.. |

I used some Butyl tape across the front side of the splitter, where it touches the front of the bumper. Along with slightly longer 8mm screws, it's very solid and doesn't move, tested at over +100mph ontrack

I ordered a Slek back in May and still do not have valid tracking information even though I was told it was shipped twice. I am starting to regret the purchase and probably should have gone with Boca.
Anyone have and experience comparing the quality between Slek and Boca? Thanks! Sam

I received mine and the quality is excellent. However, mine came with a crack. I contacted carbon dynamics and they want a quote to fix it-guessing they want to pay for the repair. Not sure if I should do that or ask for a new one. Advice?

I showed them pictures of the box and they said it didn't look like it happened in transit. I emailed Maximilian at carbon dynamics yesterday about a full refund or a new replacement and am yet to hear back from him.
