try this thread:

we have small headlight housings, its all about positionin those boxes whether its LUX, e92, or whatever in a spot where they dont touch the headlight motor

Well I did do that.. After moving them around and still getting the fault I finally just took the cover off and tried it without anything in the way at all and I still got it

Did you follow the instructions in my DIY? If you place them properly they are completely out of the way of the bulbs. They will sit back about 1/2" from the rear of the bulbs and the only thing which will contact the ballast is the wires, which just brush back/forth.

I had ADH errors with my V4's before selling them. After messing with the headlight while removed from the vehicle, I noticed the peg would force the ballast into a less than desirable location. I tried the position below, removed the one 'peg', and have had zero issues since.

Edit: Re-read your post. Do you mean you put the factory bulbs back in, and still have ADH errors? Could be 1 of 2 things; unrelated issue like moisture or a foreign object damaging the control module or jamming the headlight, or the car isn't trying to move the lights since it thinks they are jammed. Try disconnecting the battery, or unplugging the headlight for a bit. Once re-connected the car should try the normal auto-level procedure if the modules are working correctly.

Anyway... LUX V5 arrived packaged well, picture below. With the new LCI headlights still loose (Don't have my baby back from storage yet ) I did some test fitting. I found a spot that should fit the lights fairly well. Very rough outline below - if this works I'll put together a full comprehensive DIY.

1. Cut this peg, and sand smooth. I cannot see any purpose for this peg with the function of the headlight, it literally is floating in mid air once the cover is re-installed. My assumption is that this is part of the fabrication process. Don't mind the crack in the upper portion of the rear cover - damage from shipping. $35 for a new cover which I would be buying anyway to replace the worn seals.

2. Fasten your ballast with double sided tape, velcro, etc.

3. Install - this is how it will line up.

Why remove the title and your post? The solution could be helpful for others...? Or did Lux ask you to do it?

Really, try to leave it for others to see in the future. That's part of what makes forums so useful.
