I have a confession to make

While parking in a Boston public garage today, I knowingly and willingly passed up at least a half dozen open spots and proceeded to the lowest possible level, just so that I could listen to the sound of my exhaust a bit longer. And I was late to my meeting as well.

I am so ashamed.

I used to have a Porsche 914 which didn't sound amazing but with the top off it sounded pretty cool in underground parking lots and zooming under bridges. I purposely went to an underground parking lot a few times just to make noise and if I left within 20 minutes I didn't have to pay either.

Right thing to do so no one parks next to you and dings the door.

Lol I've done this too...a lot. I usually go from idle to 3.5k rpm on 1st gear (DCT) and let the throttle go to hear the divine burbles.

Underpasses and tunnels are fun too.

you are not alone. I slow down for almost every underpass so I can accelerate through it!

Yup. I feel slightly retarded every time I do this, but I can't help it!

I should have added that I just haven't had the privilege of driving my 1er in warm weather yet. It has been a cold spring but it should start warming up so I'll be able to drive with moonroof open and windows down.... Can't wait!

Same thiing. Went to Mariano's today solely so I could pull in the garage there and hear the BMW PE. I didn't even need groceries. Ended up buying beer though lol.

Does anyone ever randomly blip the throttle while waiting at a red light with the windows/top down?

I been doing it a lot lately.

I do that too. Especially if there's a Prius in the other lane or someone on their phone. Yeah I get a lot of dirty looks. Lol.

+1, accelerated briskly through an underpass today in the vert, sounded great (and that's without the PE) - and.....I got the usual shaking head and rolling eyes from the wife.

heck i got all youze beat, i park in walmart parking lot and flip the throttle a little. a quick 4G on the RPM and back down. People look at me like is this guy lost or something all the while they are drooling trough the parking lot. Tunnels, red lights, underpasses, large city buildings all get my reverb. Even my garage when i crank er up.

LOL! I did this today coming back from lunch. I have the BMW PPK installed and it really enhances the burbling and just sounds fantastic!

I've already prepped my service guy that I will be having the BMW performance exhaust installed when I bring my car in for it's first 5k service.

I can't wait!!

Yep. I do all of these things as well. My only complaint is that the exhaust flap rattle is pretty annoying at low speeds and I wish I could do something about it.
