otherwise give me an ariel atom which costs 30000$ and does 0-62mph in 3.7s and ill whip any porsche on track, even a turbo... but its still a car youd never show your mates. And the new MX5 really doesnt have what made the old one a classic , so its for people who really cant get enough money for a proper sports car

For the money I would choose the 3 any day. The 645's interior doesn't look like it belongs in a $70,000+ car. Compare the quality of the 645’s interior to the 7 series and you would think that both cars are in different price ranges. The 645’s interior doesn’t seem to be of a higher quality than the E90. Which is sad because the 645 cost $30,000 more than the E90. The 645's performance also doesn't put it in the $70,000+ sports coupe department imo. If someone were giving both cars away and I had to choose one it would be the 645, which I would promptly sell. Instead of the 645 I would spend that money on a Porsche. Not only are the porches faster and have a nicer interior, they are also much more reliable than the BMW. The 6series doesn’t really do it for me. The 645 doesn’t offer $70,000+ performance or a $70,000 interior. Add some more HP (or lose weight) put some better quality materials inside of it and maybe I’ll be interested. The 645 is overrated, underpowered and overpriced IMO.

All the cars mentioned above are great cars on their own, but really only the 911 truly compares to the 6 series. You may personally like other cars better, but that doesn't make it a realistic comparison. I know we like to start a lot of threads here at E90Post, but let's at least try to keep it in perspective.

The Cayman is a fantastic looking car, and I haven't once thought it's a "woman's" car. Curby fenders aren't a negative thing. Also, the new Miata is a wonderful redo of the original. There is not reason to bash it based on price. It's pretty darn amazing that Mazda can build such a fantastic piece of driving machinery for the low amount of money they charge. That's applaudable not something to make rude comments about. Most US Miata buyers buy them as fun cars and not as daily transport, so they have the money to buy the other more practical cars for daily transport and get the Miata for real fun, which it does deliver. If a car is "gay", then how do we know? We would have to know it's original gender. Or, is the "cayman" a "gayman"? T |

Sometimes people don't buy the most expensive car they can afford. If they're smart and satisfied with something less expensive they'll gladly save the money. If it were free, I'd obviously take the 6. If I were paying I'd get the E92, unless money was really no object... but if that were the case I'd get the M5. |

The 911 can only be compared to the 6 series on a price basis, not on a "ride" basis. The 911 is a sports car that should be compared to the likes of the Corvette, Viper, Farari, Jaguar, Austin-Martin, Meserati, etc. The 6 series compares better to the likes of sport coupes like the MB SL500 (both in price and type of car). In any case, assuming money wasn't an issue, to suggest that there is a realistic choice between buying a 3 series coupe or a 6 series is absurd, IMO.

so which 70000$ gt offers mroe performance? oh and by the way if you going to say the Corvette C6, then you are surely not forgetting the fact that it has the cheapest interior in the world, good for a 12000$ car Quote:

6 series' back side is just gorgeous, especially that cascading look of the taillights. It's a no brainer, 6 series.

carrera S (auto) 0-60 in 5.0 sec Cayman S (auto) 0-60 in 5.8 sec that's what Porsche claims keeping in mind there's a mag in the states that's timed a carrera S at 4.0 flat to 60 so these numbers are VERY pessimistic your 0-60 number for the 650 is for the manual, BMW claims 0-60 in 5.4 sec for the auto the porsche 911 is faster, and that's before you even consider the superior handling. You must give BMW the nod on techy features like bluetooth, sat radio, aux input, idrive but the Porsche 911 outperforms the 6 in just about every way. |
