Talking My new baby's first drive!!!

Hi all, just wanted to share a picture of my new baby's first ride home from the Performance Center. She made it through 600 miles of snow and 250 miles of rain. But, she's freakin' AWESOME!!!!! I-drive ROCKS!!!! And the performance center is really the only way to pick up a BMW. More to come.

NOTE:
There is a chip on the inner lip of my trunk that I have to talk to the dealer about though, b/c I think that's ridiculous. I hope they do right on this one.

Hope you guys like the pic

I'll get more up soon

sucks about the chipped paint.

some lady put her box on my trunk while she was closing the hatch on her X5 parked next to mine, slid it on/off both ways. scratches went through the clearcoat. not happy.

It was definitely worth the wait!!!! My dad wants to go back to performance center in march for his new car too!!! Do you wash your engine bay in the winter?? The drive up from PC made things rather dirty and its pretty hard to get in there with a towel!!!

i followed her and got her information. she said she'd pay for it, but when i told her the estimate the next day to get it done properly, she flipped. $1,200.

Maybe next time she will think before treating someone else's baby so cruelly. Hopefully she learned something.

I would never, ever set my stuff on someone else's vehicle, even if it were a '75 Chevy Vega. That's a total lack of manners, which unfortunately I get to see a lot of in my line of work.

Hope it works out. You deserve to have it made right.

Thanks guys. My dealer even fixed the paint chip at their body shop!!! (and gave my a 5'er for a loaner, so I'm pretty happy now)

Next week the tint goes on. I'll get some good pic's then.

If you want to do this you need to be super careful, and cover up anything that looks electrical or anything in the intake path and use very low pressure water and some car wash soap or engine degrease (doubt you'll need this the car is still new). If it were my car, i'd just spot clean it with some quick detailer spray and some silicone protectant. You should be able to get most of the visible areas clean enough. Engine will just keep getting dirty.

I wish I had had the time to!!! I'll do that when I pick up my V12 M1 (or 150i or whatever they will call it) in 4 years.

Maybe I'll just try driving fast in the rain since driving fast in the snow is what did it in the first place. About to go pickup the car now, so I'll see if it works out when I get home.
