Finally saw Sedona
So I went back to the dealership knowing that they now have a few other colors to check out. A sedona 135 was right at the entrance. Certainly an interesting color and I don't dislike it but I was able to confidently cross it off my possible list. As others have said, you need to see it in person but it is definitely unique. One thing it is not is red. Depending on the light conditions it fluctuates between burnt orange and a bright earthy clay color. I did think to myself that if you are a Texas Longhorn fan, this is the color you want. After the "newness" wears off, I just don't see this color being so enticing in a few years.

With BMW having introduced red into the description of the color, a disservice may possibly have been applied to the actual color. BMW might have been better served to simply describe the color as 'Sedona', not some variation of red.
Having seen the color, I would observe, in natural daylight the color is quite dramatic, nothing I've ever seen, approaching the color with an expectation of 'red' is simply not realistic. SR is not a 'bad' color though it is not for everyone. Hell, my beloved JB is rejected by many. Choices...

What's Jeff1962's example of a brighter red than CR?

I don't have my PMS color book with me its at work.
I have seen more pure reds on Porsche's and other cars. I guess like a 185 red with less rubine, more like warm red. More like an orange/red. BRIGHT. |

I agree, really, really interesting color, much better in natural light than under flourescent. But not red and not at all the color that's shown in the brochures and videos.

I think it's beautiful.. I ordered it. I knew going in- it wasn't going to be all red. I like that it has different hues at almost every angle, and every different kind of light. It's unique.
