Tire replacement question/concern
Greetings Addicts! My first tire replacement was at 8000 miles - front passenger side (pothole at highway speeds); and I just got another flat tire a month later at 9000 miles - rear passenger side (nail). Of course I have to replace this one too (thank you, tire insurance); so I will end up with 2 newer front & rear tires on the passenger side.
Question - would I be ok with this tire configuration without any driveability issues and long-term wear&tear or tread disparity problems? If I hear too many naysayers, i intend to replace BOTH rear tires. Thanks for your responses; Cheers! |

It was on my SUV but I put its full size spare on the back for a few thousand miles when the other side already had 20,000 or more miles. Probably a bigger diameter mis-match than you have. I did not notice any difference in handling or anything nor did I expect to. Later I switched back (I was just trying to put some miles on the spare).
The BMW is a very different vehicle but I do not think the very small difference will hurt anything. Two different sizes of tires is inadvisable but different tread depth on the same type and size of tire is minor IMHO. Jim
