Arctic E91 - Shapes and Shadows
I didn't want to copy myself too much from the Alpine White shots last week, but there are some obvious self-ripoffs. Once you get behind the rear passenger doors, the wagon has lines and shapes all it's own. Arctic is such an amazing color.

Here are a few more... you know how I love the fin (shut up Stew). Every shoot has to have a fin picture... this one is nice because it gets to play against the roof rail.

Do you drive you cars? They look like they belong in the museum of E-90's.
Oh yeah, great pics. |

My favorite thing about Arctic is that it changes color depending on angle, light, and what is being reflected in it. Nikki has probably done the best job of capturing the many moods of the color. Even in this shot you can see the color darken to blue as it falls into shadow...

What kind of camera/lens are you using? Nice light. Your photo skills are impressive! Can't wait to get my hands on a new E90 to try my hand at car photos.

Now Stew, you know you can't get me riled up! I am the definition of calm and reason. Actually, I had the latest software update done this week and so far (knock wood) the BT has been 100% reliable since then!
EDIT: PS - I gave all fives on the survey too. Look at me being a happy customer!

I actually gave some information about the equipment I was using on my last photo thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11862 This one was basically the same. Thanks for the compliment!

Her car and mine came over on the same ship too, so there is kind of a kinship there.

Zep,
Very nice. Compliments again! I am (currently) a professional photographer so I'm really itchin' to get a shiny new car to do similar shots with. My website is www.CanProPhoto.com and although I shoot sports more than anything else, I would really dig shooting cars for a living BMW, are you listening? I'm a Canon guy myself. EOS 1DmkII and about enough lenses to trade in for an M5. Keep it up... I'm drooling.

Hey, Zep, I was wondering if you would consider coming over and detailing mine. For 24 hours my 330i on order was Arctic, but my friends talked me out of the color and into Titanium Silver, which I'm happy with. But I have always loved Arctic. I also really love white.

I've always found cars a challenge to shoot. I had an assignment once to cover a antique and hot rod car show and figured "this will be a breeze", but it was tough! I came away with crap. You either have to be blessed with a scenic background and beautiful natural light (ala Nikki) or concentrate on certain details and angles with controlled light... Thanks much for the complement! My skills are rusty at best. Know what you mean about the lenses! I could probably have bought my E90 with my Nikkors.

Awesome pics. Is there any lighting where the Artic is less desirable a color? I've noticed in pics (haven't seen the Artic in person) where the Artic is a pale green, not bad looking just not as exciting as it appears when its a light blue.
