I wanted to chime in and say that this all looks amazing! I'm not in country for the next 5 months but I'd be down for a nice vacation drive next year, gotta use my 110+ days of leave somehow! Looking forward to updates and pictures for this years drive though!

That's a shame, man! The more people, the more fun.

Any updates? It's pretty dead here.

Dackelone,

Thanks for the invitation, but it's a 1930 km one way stretch for a two day weekend.
I would probably need two days just to get there

I'll pass this time, but keep my eyes open for future Dackelone travels. Hopefully a bit closer.
Enjoy Italy.

Yes... we have set the date for this year's Sella Tour for July 17th thru 19th. We will bee meeting up in Italy Friday afternoon and driving in (mass)convoy to our hotel in the Sella region. Saturday is the main driving with some people joining us on Sunday for some "extra" touring on the Sella region.

We will be staying at the Bella Vista Hotel:
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hotel...10742882353538

We still have room for anyone who'd like to join us.

We still have room(s) for anyone thinking of joining us for this year's Sella 2.0 Alpine drive. Most of the driving will be on Saturday. I will drive down Friday. We are still looking for a good place for everyone to meet up Barbiano/Barbian ? The hotel rooms are in the 97 euro range now that all the cheaper rooms are booked up. Just FYI.

Dad's booked this hotel. I didn't tell him to write an email to the Bellavista hotel and he said that they were full according to Booking. So there's that. It's about 10kms away from Bellavista.

For us, it's a long drive there so we'll start on Thursday most likely, and I think we're going to book one night somewhere near Stelvio so that we could drive the pass early Friday.

This is our route from München to Canazei (not final). Anyone planning a similar way?

I will join this year as well and will start from Munich. Maybe we can drive together if the date suits us both.

Dackelone maybe you can include me on the first page as a participant?

Thanks

swagon thanks for that hotel link. I will steer any other last minute additions for our Sella 2.0 to that hotel - so we are all together.

I will be taking off Thursday thru Monday for this trip. I am not quite sure how I will be driving from my haus in Germany. I live two hour North of Munchen. I have to talk to Artemis and Swadeness to see how we will drive(route) and when.

swagon a really nice place near Stelvio to stay is the Post Hotel in Pfunds, Austria.

It is a very nice hotel and was a favorite with our group last year. Only bad thing about the hotel is they don't serve dinner all that late. I think by 20:30 the kitchen closes. I would give it four out of five stars, and their prices are very nice.

Another option for you would be to stay at Francesca's Post Hotel at the base of Stelvio in Trafio. Francesca's brother runs another hotel at the TOP of Stelvio Pass in Bormio. That would be also a good choice. They both are GREAT people!

Hey, thanks Dackel for the hotels too! We're kinda undecided yet atm... It's a long drive for sure so we're still planning what would be the shortest/least time consuming and yet enjoyable.

And I'm surprised his many people are going. Thought this year was gonna be a bit less popular based on how many people said yes in this thread but I'm glad I was wrong. Hope the guys from 1erforum.de will also participate (made a thread there).

@Rainier what route you'll be taking from Prague?

I just talked to Francesca's son... they won't open their hotel this year. But Francesca's brother's hotel atop of Stelvio Pass - will be open. I might just stay there a night on the way down or up(from Sella) - I have not decided yet.

I am actually surprised we don't have more people signed up for Sella. I have a "gut feeling" that right before our trip, I will be swamped by last minute requests.

Hey Swagon, we're planning on taking the route past Munchen, past Innsbruck and down into Italy. I have a friend who is presently without a BMW coming along for the weekend and I promised him some autobahn time driving my car. Plus the drive from Prague directly south into Austria is terrible, far too much single lane road time.

FYI, we're going to stop off for lunch at the BMW museum on the way back to Prague that Sunday if anyone else is interested.

That is true. I hate the drive from Prague to CB and Dolní Dvořiště.

Definitely going through Munich - Ga-Pa - Brenner - Stelvio or Munich - Berchtesgaden - Großglockner. Would love to drive up/down Stelvio in the morning, though.

Thanks, Dackel, for the heads up again.

In the meantime a forum fellow has programmed these three roadmaps for BMW SATNAV import (CIC/NBT). Thanks for that.

OK, many thanks for the itinerary. Will look into it later.

Kinda surprised that we're driving on Friday already. We'll be staying for one night on Thursday somewhere around Lienz and our original plan was to drive on to the hotel from East (from Cortina, so a fair bit of the Saturday group route). Hmm.

Thanks for the schedule, we're going to have a blast. What time is the rendezvous at Vipiteno on Friday? It shows 6 hours (600 km) from Prague to the meeting point. My friend and I are driving out on Friday, Maybe we can move quick enough and make the first leg. Thanks.
