Girl at work has a Fiat Abarth and took all the Fiat badging off and replaced then with all Ferrari badging because she thinks it's funny and it is.

I was gonna put ///M license plate frame on my newly acquired 135i, but I better not. I guess I'll just keep it I'm my garage. |

BTW, an ///M license plate frame is permitted by the Car Gods. No sacrilege here.

I thought about this topic while watching a Mecum auto auction where several "clone" Chevelle 396's were sold. They didn't try to pass them off as the real deal but they were badged as 396's and most of the modifications were true to form. I have enough friends with M3's / M4's / M5's that I wouldn't dare put an M badge on my car lest I be ridiculed mercilessly but if you have modifications that meet or exceed the performance standard of the 1M coupe, who's to say you don't have the right to display accordingly. Just my $.02.

Since the thread has gone there, I'll chime in on something I saw on Saturday, a MKIV Jetta TDI with an Xdrive badge on the trunk. Really?!?!?

Saw a white E90 335i today with an ///M badge just to the left of its 335i badge, it looked like this: ///M335i.
Couldn't get a pic because we were in traffic and had to pay attention to what I was doing. The 3er quickly made a left turn into an elementary school parking lot. I wanted a pic so I made a left as soon as I safely could, then went back and entered the school parking lot, but couldn't find the 335i. It must've dropped off a kid and left. More sacrilege! Oh, the pain!

Speaking of letting things go, are you still denying yourself the opportunity to test drive and possibly own the best 1er that BMW makes?
