Driving in Switzerland

Hi there,

Does anyone know if EU license holders need to get an international driving license to drive in Switzerland? I have a Belgian license and am planning a road trip.

Any other special requirements for Switzerland?

Cheers,
Andrew

You don't need a EU license ... just your belgian license

but in arriving at customs, you buy 40 CHF a thumbails for the highway. This validity is one years for all higway .

but for the roads is not necessary...

have nice trip;

No, just make sure you purchase your highway "vignette" when entering Switzerland. You can either purchase it in Luxembourg, France or Belgium' closest gas station to the boarder or just pay it upon entering !

Great. Thanks for the advice! I will save myself a few euro on the extra license. Will purchase vignette at the border.

I'll post photos of my 1er in scenic Switzerland when I return
