The UPS guy brought me presents! (ACT)
Just thought I would share my good news with everyone! This is going in tomorrow morning and I will keep you updated on break in and my impressions of how it performs!
From what I understand, only the car that was used to design the clutch has ever had this particular one installed, so I am being unique for once! LOL |

6 puck unsprung, nicely done. Its what I drive in my 05 SRT-5 with 450whp daily driven tune. Very Reliable, had it for over 2 years now.
Ps, the clutch will feel touchy when you let it out untill you get used to it. Its not a gradual release like a sprung clutch, its either in contact, or not lol. Last edited by Dan135i; 04-12-2010 at 10:23 AM.. |

I've got a feeling this is going to be a little more aggressive than most people will want for a daily driven car, but I'm interested to hear your impressions.

Not when you ALL OUT torture them...believe me, I do that...
As far as driveability I will def report on the pedal feel, engagement, and holding power ASAP. It won't be done until tomorrow morning now because I forgot to bring them the aluminum one time use bolts for the pressure plate this morning before work. They have them now and I'll be driving it out tomorrow. Jon |

Off topic, but what is with BMW and these "one time use" aluminium bolts?! They seem to be all over this powertrain, and I'm not sure I understand why. Weight advantage maybe? Or is it that they're going into aluminium castings and they're worried about corrosion and seizing due to dissimilar metals? Anyone have any ideas? |

Very nice. We may need a new clutch next year when we hit 450wheel and the ACT is at the top of our list. Definitely keep us posted.
And for the question on the bolts, they are torque to yield. The bolt will stretch a given amount at their torque spec. Once you stretch the bolt past its yield point, it will not return to its original length. |

Well, let's just say the clutch holds well...car is back in the shop with a broken axle...have yet to do enough driving to get a good review going. Will keep you posted...AGAIN
I will stick this in also, up for sale is an almost brand new clutch and pressure plate. They have 500 miles on them if anyone is interested. Jon |
