My read was 30 min, and write was about the same. I just took long drives in the days between the file processing. For the drives I turned off HVAC & Radio

Thanks Adrey, so it really is about the same read/write and a tiny faster time for the MSV70 VS xx80

I just got email saying I will have the tune today

Oh, and after a bit of driving with the performance filter i just don't think the expense is worth it. I paid 450 for it but still quite some cash. It is just engine response that got improvement and probably a tiny bit more torque low-mid range.

Noise wise is just imperceptible, my exhaust makes it totally invisible.

Sounds pretty spot on.

a couple of pics of my other mods while I wait for my tune

BMW Aero Spoiler, it is just test fit, not yet fully seated as I was making sure I got it right. I think I managed to line it up perfectly.

1M Binnacle

BMW PI

10mm Spacers in the rear, none at the front. I think it is spot on!

Zero rubbing and the car drives very nice... if it wasn't for a steering rack that started leaking she would be 100% perfect, it is 98% or so now :P

I agree. I'd trade my coupe for a 4 door hatch in a second. even a 2 door hatch would be better than the coupe. in looks, convenience and performance.

Hi, I just got my file from Evolve this afternoon and uploaded half an hour ago. It took 15 minutes only and the car started right up without any problems.

I am reserving my full review until I can drive the car more and have allowed the DME to adapt, so far I only drove 24kms in highway roads with very limited space due to traffic to see what she is like. So far the car feels pretty much the same but with more torque and force, more so in the low-mid range (2500 - 4000 rpms). Top end I wasn´t able to test much again due to traffic, could only do one run in third to my new limit of 7200 rpms and the car pulled very well, seamlessly linear without the noticeable drop after 6500. Exhaust is now more metallic close to the red line and the performance filter now can be slightly noticed.

At this point all I can say it is just a supple change, but will have chance to experience the new map in full after she adapts and I drive it more in all sort of conditions.

Ok so 4 months later what's the verdict on the remap Manu?

I have a 125i that evolve tell me they can get 50+ bhp as my engine is basically a detuned 130i but I have been told by someone else that they have a different ECU so its not that simple to just remap. You said in one of your posts that the 130i has a MSV70DME ECU? I don't suppose you or anyone else can tell me what the ECU in a euro spec 2010 125i E82 might be?

Many thanks in advance

You have the MSV80. The car can be tuned up to near 130i specs. The major discrepancy will be in the header/collector design difference between the two.

Now that I look into it on other sources, I see that as well.

LOL I know right??

This leaves me more questions than answers, so if they are possibly different ECU's can they still be re mapped to a 130i?

I'm thinking no but hoping yes

As per US code, I would need 4, 3 of which I would have to crash before I could use the 4th. Horaaay.

I appreciate the offer though.

You'll be driving a cayman S soon enough anyway and will never look back to BMW again. :P

The changes in my case are somehow subtle but still noticeable (the gains for the 130i are just 10 - 15hp only, which is just 8 - 12 whp); the car does feel stronger from 2000 to 3500 rpm, then about the same from 3500 to about 6000 where it again shows an improvement as she runs neatly to the 7000 rpm redline, whereas before it just kind of started to fade off clearly from 6K on.

To be completely honest, I just don't find any difference in throttle mapping or smoothness at all, many people mention this as being the key changes, in my case just not, but my car is euro spec and so it is already calibrated more aggressively that the US market cars. In summary...

* Better low down torque
* High rpm power delivery is broadened and now extends to the 7k rpm redline
* Mileage is overall unchanged, however I did see an improvement in highway conditions from 6.8l/100km to 6.7
* Throttle map to me seems just about the same, even though I requested lineal mapping, but then again the OE map was just fine, I did not experience any improvement in responsiveness and pedal still shows a bit of a delay, this compare to my old Renaultsport Clio182.
* Power delivery smoothness is just same as OE

With all that said I did go the remap route knowing that the changes are subtle in NA engines but still wanted get as much as possible even at relatively high cost, but mind you, I also have PE intake and PE Exhaust, none of which added any extreme power either but overall improve the driving experience and make your grin even bigger, and that is what it counts.

Oh I suspect the 1 series will be the long term beater.

Plus I already went another way.

I have not seen a 125i without the same ECU as a 130i. Email me last 7 digits of your chassis number and I can confirm this for you.
