Have you ever run Buttonwillow, or just the NorCal tracks? Looks like I need to get up there sometime.

The light rain earlier in the day may have “leveled the playing field” so to speak. My car was on street tires that are fairly decent in the wet. The track was wet and slippery in the previous session and probably affected them psychologically on this run. This run group was Advanced, right before the Race prepped group. But both cars should be in the 1:40's in dry conditions. By comparison, my current setup on stock tune and street tires is capable of running a 1:53 in dry conditions... Seems to me the driver of the 135 is a far more better driver then from the GT3 RS and McLaren
Was able to compare my 335i JB4 on TWS against the McLaren as well....on the straight he was disappearing at the horizon but after the first two corners I was able to get close again |

Awesome driving skills! Hurts my pride to see a stock tune n54 at the track ! No supras or gtr owners run a stock tune bc its sacrilegious to the platform!
Pick up an fmic $500, used cobb v2 $350, add 5 gal e85, or 100oct for insurance. If it gets hot switch to stock tune in the pits. Ive never gone into limp my cars are much heavier too. The 3 other jb4 n54 with me went into limp including 335is (extra cooling). Excellent driving skills! Compliment your skills by running a mild tune like map 2 with some higher octane and start crushing exotics! Then post another video!

Great video! Love how you use up all the track exiting 3A. Seen plenty of Sonoma videos where everyone seems terrified of that outside curb. I mean, what could be so scary, it's just an off-camber, blind-crest, right-hander. What's so scary? On stock brakes, that downhill braking zone in to #4 must be terrifying. Way to make the best use of your tools

Not sure what you're trying to prove here about the car? A professional driver in a Honda R type would probably be able to keep up with someone who was horrible in a GT3 RS on circuit (or maybe one who isn't pushing it due to track conditions).
The numbers the RS puts down are mind bending. You'd be nothing short of doing major, expensive re-engineering of the 1er to keep up, equal driving considered. |

Agree! If I were in the other cars, I’d treat them like momentum cars as well. It’s all about conserving precious momentum...it's the currency of the race track! |

You’re absolutely right! But there is another issue, brakes! Pad fade and sinking pedal. Car barely stops as is with stock power, been quite a challenge to brake consistently. Stopping distances increase after every lap and I’ve been dealing with it by braking much earlier than I’d like! I’ll be moving up to Castrol SRF on the next brake fluid change. Motul RBF 600 / 660 has been the best so far, but the pedal still gets very soft. lol thanks again! Honestly, I still feel there’s still more skill to be developed from the stock tune. I’ll “graduate” to a tune eventually! Of course, I’ll be sure to post a video if that ever happens haha. |
