I would have gotten JB if available. So ended up with BSM instead. Perhaps I'll change my mind the first time I can break out the Griot's orbital on it, which won't be until spring.

I have both...
And unless you keep your car spotless and dentless, you should go with the BSM. Any work on a JB car will show swirl marks like you would not believe. Even cleaning it when dirty is painstaking.

Not so bad if you use Zaino. It protects the JB finish, and makes it easy to clean.

That would be the invisible paint.

I am a bit torn between between the two when I hopefully pull the trigger on getting "one" next spring.
My 1er will be a semi-daily driver. About 12K a year on the 1er, and about 8K on my trusty Focus, particularly in bad weather, and definitely when the snow and salt is out. I really feel that JB is, like all true blacks, a killer look. However, I have heard a lot of complaining from owners about maintaining, or from detailers spending lots of time on correcting Jet Black. I don't know what I am going to do. It's a tough choice. I have the time to take care of a car with fussy paint, but there are days when I don't want to. That said, it is not a bad choice. It is kind of choosing between two very good looking girls who are interested in you. That's not bad, is it? PS-If I could get a 1er in LeMans Blue, or Interlagos, then all bets are off!! |
